Soundtoys has announced its new Soundtoys 5 effects plug-in collection.

Soundtoys 5 adds the new Soundtoys Effect Rack, the new PrimalTap retro delay plug-in, and a new "dongle-free" licensing option. Soundtoys 5 includes the entire line of Soundtoys effects plug-ins in one package.

The new Soundtoys Effect Rack is the centerpiece of Soundtoys 5. It turns what was previously a collection of individual effects plug-ins into a powerful effects system designed to make it easy for users to create, audition, save, and recall combinations of Soundtoys effects.

The Soundtoys Effect Rack integrates all 12 Soundtoys effects into a single plug-in, improving workflow by visually displaying an entire effect processing chain – eliminating the need to navigate multiple plug-in windows to adjust parameters, add new effects, or change the order of effects. It also includes overall input and output level controls, a wet/dry mix control, and a global feedback control – which add new creative possibilities that would require additional plug-ins or complicated routing to accomplish in most DAWs.

Soundtoys 5 effects are carefully hand-crafted, based on decades of experience creating professional effect processing hardware and software, and inspired by Soundtoys' extensive collection of rare and classic studio gear. Saturation, compression and distortion are modeled with Decapitator, Radiator, and DevilLoc. EchoBoy and the new PrimalTap are a virtual history of echo devices. Crystallizer and MicroShift model studio classic stereo widening, chorus and pitch effects. PanMan, Tremolator, FilterFreak, and PhaseMistress pioneered the concept of beat synchronized effects, and have extensive rhythmic editing power and deep customization options behind simple interfaces.

Soundtoys 5 will ship Q4 2014. Pricing TBA.

OMG, I think I just made a mistake in my pants. That looks frigging great. Honestly, they are my favorite plugins…. Can't damn wait. Wonder what the MSRP on it is going to be… And they too me are the only developer that can get away with their skeumorphic designs. They just look as good as they sound. Not like some devs that just put lipstick on a pig and call it an UREI 1176 etc… THIS is an exciting release...

and the primal tap!! I don't know if any of you have tried the real deal on that, but was a frackmonster for sound… Really really excited about this (obviously)… and I prefer native solutions to UAD dongles...

Probably they made the math to see what they are missing with this iLok crap..
This will help them to gain more market share IMO.
Hope works for them to encourage more Devs to do the same.
    Thanks for the info Cat

Sadly it doesn't have all the features of the Prime Time VCO Input, Sweep Input etc .

    But still good news anyway

    Cheers Cat

Btw don't get to excited about the non iLok dongle it's an option so you can have hard/soft

I was looking around the net for new audio news to post and bumped into it on KVR sisyphus. It's likely not on their site because it hasn't been released yet and won't be at least for another month or two from what I've heard. They were supposed to release earlier but ended up pushing it back to December.

Sorry to derail and ask a stupid question... but why such hate for iLok? I know it's not crackable (yet) but beyond that :dunno: Perhaps point me to an older thread?

Wow, dongle free? Finally! But I hope it will still be possible to load individual plugins instead of a plugin container only. Not a fan of those.

Good to know they abandon that Ilock shit. Probably going to buy some from them. Radiator, decapitator or Microshift .... If I get rich, @ 130$ per plugin ...

Try this post on Gearslutz https://www.gearslutz.com/board/music-computers/844460-warning-do-not-install-new-ilok-software.html

    Its only a 112 pages long :)

It was complete chaos for a couple of weeks.

Still needs an iLok account, but no hardware dongle any more.

I'm afraid it will be too expensive for me..

Those are plugs that to me are very good but I never get satisfied using it.
it is a rare case to me, another one is sylenth by lennar digital, rarely I found myself happy with it.

I never liked Sylenth also :)

And as for the iLok: once you buy it, you forget it, it's not a trouble at all. I understand that many hate it because you cannot "try before buy", but since the big iLok update (that was a disaster for weeks, true) new iLok drivers are stable and it is completely transparent dongle. The only drawback I see is that it is very risky to travel with your dongled plugins, because if you lose your dongle you are basically f***d till you regain all the licenses.

And regarding this thread topic: great news, I really like Soundtoys Echoboy. I am only afraid that the price will be really high.
