Ok guys, since I want to stop using Soundtoys because of their problems and timebombs,
can someone reccomend me some alternatives to:

    FilterFreak (Some Filter with automations)
    Tremolator (a good Tremolo)
    Phasemistress (a vintage phaser)

I'm looking for something with a good analog sound and a good quick interface

    thanks a lot

I'm freaking out with these Soundtoys
every version has problems, be very careful

4.0.1 and 4.0.2 worked for a year, then they crashed with an horrible burst which was breaking my ears and my speakers
4.1.1 has a timebomb which starts after a month

I came to the conclusion that they are dangerous and I don't want to use them anymore

I'm asking for some plugins which can replace them

    Ok,
I found Sugarbytes WOW2 which replaces perfectly FilterFreak
the Boz Digital Imperial Delay it's a good alternative to Echoboy (except for the saturations)

    I need now a good Phaser and a Tremolo/Pan

First, don't make it seem that the developer is to blame for your cracked plugins.

Second, If you like them soo much, just buy them, I got the academic bundle for $250.

Plus if you buy them, all your projects with the timebombs will start working again.

why do you keep on telling me to buy them?
    is it audiosex or what?
If you give me 500 bucks and the possibility to use them without ilok (which I don't want on my computer), i think about it

thanks to anyone for all the suggestions anyway

I found sound guys sfx only for windows and I'm on Mac, I would like to give it a try...

fabfilter volcano is nice but Sugarbytes Wow2 is really great...

I try blucat phaser and audiothing phase motion now...

    thanks so much

Dont look for plugin phasers, no good. You can make one yourself. You need just a good, flexible EQ + automation and the VST Plugin Analyser by C. Budde. Plus knowledge of how a phaser works, nothing too complicated (here i mean the freq response they generate).
I did one with Equilibrium and it sounds better than any phaser i have installed (only the best, including mistress).Bonus, you can manipulate it in unimaginable ways, you can end up with a million phaser flavors if you want. Your imagination is the limit.

mix it up a bit or mix and match ...use some stable vst.. with some in your daw if it has some native effects

example.. reaper's phaser can sound surprisingly good on guitars if you

take the time to tweak it to your liking...

phase 90 vst is pretty readily available... I think it was free or shareware before..but alas only avail for windows

bluecat free vst's was modelled on the eventide vintage gear, for free plugs I think their pretty awesome and is nearest I know to soundtoys approach for some of their plugins. Audiothing phaser supposed to sound decent according to computer music. I'm still on win7 so soundtoys are running fine

I'll have to give WOW a try. I'm a big fan of Saturn and Volcano, but if it's a better sound i'll change

    As for the Phase Mistress:
Meldaprod MPhaser is free, available for both Win and Mac, and has quite everything on board!
I would check out everything from Melda's free bundle first, because they are of really high quality, and only then search for what's still missing in your pack.

Audio Damage Phase 2 *does* sound like the "Small Stone" but it lacks both random/stepped waveforms as well as an offset adjustment.

U-He Uhbik-P is a very nice phaser but it lacks a random/stepped waveform.

D16 Fazortan has all the good features but it sounds a bit more "careful" and it's hard to get "pleasingly extreme" sounds out of it.

Waves Enigma is very flexible and can go to extremes sound-wise, but has no random/stepped modulation.

MeldaProduction Free Bundle is an excellent replacement and then some, for only 50 euro, but you have to know a little about how to combine the FX to use it really effectively. I'm considering purchasing it myself. These guys use good algorithms, their plugins don't use massive amounts of resources etc. - they know how to program plugins, in other words, and they're not full of shit like some other well known companies. One can download and use this free bundle and hear what it sounds like. Then you upgrade it for 50 euro to gain access to more advanced features. All their modulation FX are sounding very good IMO and they're nicely tweakable - good set of parameters.

However, I wouldn't pay a 1000 euro for the total bundle, at least not yet. Free bundle gives you pretty much everything anyway, and you can complement it with some other great cheap or free plugins from other good companies, e.g Valhalla, DMG, Fabfilter, ToneBoosters, Klanghelm, Tokyo Dawn Records, VladG etc.

I find it really satisfying to my ears to route and render ["freeze"] these FX or just tracks through some outboard hardware, like compressors, saturators, distortions, overdrives, valve preamps, old samplers... or simple guitar pedals - sounds better than Soundtoys to my ears. :)

    Cheers!
