For those who wants to update this beautiful software i have a solution. Last R2R keygen is a true keygen, means that it can activate official software without cracking it. So, you can download the free trial from the website (online installer only, not sure if you can get the offline installers) unblock all sites recomended by R2R, install what you need and block all the sites back. Now you have to apply the keygen BUT here comes the most importarnt part. The keygen generate 2 files in "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Sonarworks\SoundID Reference\" named license.json and user.json
You have to save them as only read files, if not they will be deleted by the software runing. Now you can run soundid reference 5.90 and working great. Let me know if it works for you and of course any kind of feedback!

Now that we know this, do you notice any downside upgrading from V4?
I’m so pleased with v4, it’s lite on the cpu, never crashes or causes any problems or conflicts with any software.

I know, if it ain’t broken..but maybe this version is just as good but with improvements and useful features or even better room analysis?

Any practical experience to share?

Every time I try and go to download the plugin at the site I can not it is saying web site unavailable try again.

 

it actually works, the only thing is that after the plugin is activated the virtual monitoring feature is disabled, is there a fix to this?

 

The only problem i was having with v5.72 (last r2r official release) is that after some time without using the monitoring (playing sounds) i had to restart the app. New version v5.9 i just installed and im not sure if this problem persist, i just tried this workaround today and worked after setting those files as only read. In comparison with v4 no other problems detected, using win 11 with amd 7950x

 

Pretty sure your problem is that you have sonarwork's site blocked in host. Check this first

 

This problem is only because R2R keygen was released before this feature, as this wasnt in v5.72. They will update keygen in future release for sure, they are the best!

 

what would you say are the benefits of upgrading? If any in particular

One thing I can’t do in v4 is play standalone vsts with ASIO and get it room corrected, do you know if that’s something you can do now?

The reaseon I updated was a free 6 months trial provided by Audient before R2R last keygen. When my period expired, i tried this workaround with the new v5 keygen. Playing standalone vsts with ASIO still not posible, have you tried this inside a DAW? Or maybe patchwork, but havent tested last one.

Oh, yeah inside a daw it works perfectly as always. I just ask because maybe for my needs i may not even update at all. its just i often play standalone vsts for practice and would love to have room correction on it but without ASIO the latency is pretty high.

The other useful case for me would be room correction with audio inputs to my interface like from audio inputs from my MPC or an external hardware synth, as now they dont get the room correction either.

In a DAW everything works fine and system sound gets corrected fine , youtube, spotify etc.

So, if the room correction quality is the same and the presets are the same and no extra features like the ones i named are available i may stay with v4

I removed the block from my host file it is still happening. It's not a biggie I was just wondering if it was just me or not.

 

There are sites for checking that like downforeveryoneorjustme.com ;)

Maybe you have to reboot to activate your hosts file change?

If the standalone has blocked connection it doesn't work right, the app hangs a lot

 

Hi choosename! Happy new year. That's weird! In my case it works just fine, as the R2R release does. No changes, just the updated version!

Hopefully they do . And they are . The older version works great but is missing some features like restricting the EQ range and others . If the company would not use an online only verification and if there would be a way to go back to an older version ( which works much better here on low latency ) I would have bought it a long time ago
