    Hello Guys!

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-CS140F and I have problem with the internal sound card, recently I formated my computer and got windows 7 x64 bit ultimate.
Since then, the sound doesn't appear to work, I mean, all drivers are installed properly and it says that the device is working properly but when I try to reproduce audio or video, nothing happes, it looks like is trying to reproduce but nothing, I don't know if I'm having a conflict with some other program, I also have ASIO 4 all installed and I use ableton live and cubase 7, not sure if that could be the problem.

Anyway, I hpe I can get this solved.

    Thank you guys!!! :D

Do you get system sounds? For instance, close any audio programs and click on the slider on the speaker icon on your taskbar. Do you get any sound? Or maybe try an MP3 file with windows media player... any sound?

try downloading the realtek High Definition Audio Codecs driver its a generic windows audio driver that works for me when i have experienced this problem previously....

    heres the link

    http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsCheck.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false#High%20Definition%20Audio%20Codecs

make sure its not on mute ..... it sounds dumb but it happens
it could very well be hardware failure as well

Had the same issue recently when i nuked a laptop, get the proper drivers from the support page for your laptop.
    Try these

make sure u pick the right version for the version of windows 7 you are running (x86 or 64 bit) from the dropdown box before you download the driver.

i would also install the motherboard driver, notebook control and utilities (so the special sony keyboard keys work)
also there is a fix for a problem with the dvd drive there, and a fix under video for a problem with the hdmi out.
That would just be personal preference based from experience though...
