these files seem to contain image data also.

being no way any expert in header injection, am not able to say if such some solution might or might not work.

the half second noise burst with the impulse response file rendered through acoustic mirror then subtracting the burst through mixing the file with the phase inverted noise burst seems to be, so far, the cleanest solution.

one might, perhaps should, check through converting couple of interesting sounding response files, then using them in the preferred convolution solution, if these somewhat old files are still worth to do all the work associated with the process.
