    What instrument is this in the chorus at 51 seconds ?

    Is that a classical instrument of some kind ?



    The sound I'm talking about is the Bup Buh Bup Buh, Bup Bah Bup Bah sound

    Thanks for the responses. It says this on wikipedia

    Musician Harold Battiste provided the instrumental arrangement. Richard Niles quotes Battiste as saying the prominent figure in the song is played on an oboe rather than an ocarina.

    I couldn't tell if it was one instrument or a few instruments.

    No I'm riled up dammit. For years I've been busking with my ocarina and people come up and they're all oh, you're so good, you should play Beethoven's oboe concerto, and I'm all oh my fucking god it's not an oboe and they're all Jesus grandpa, take your meds and I'm like I DID TAKE MY MEDS YOU GO TO HELL and I just need it to stop

    You are correct, that's why i said "A couple of reed instruments from the Woodwind family are being played"

    2nd Chorus a flute plays the main phrase as well, very low in dynamics though.
