UAD only makes an Oxford plugin, so it must be the better one :P

 

Sonnox makes real incredible stuff, looks a little outdated,
but the sound is top of the edge.

Unless I was waiting for one of them to be on sale; I wouldn't buy either one of them just because they are on sale.

I'd use what I was happy using before I saw them on sale and keep my 70 bucks. There is a release of Pulsar Modular GML8200 emulation if you are on Windows. just a side note.

 

From the question, you are specifically asking for dynamic EQ right? Kirchhoff is the latest addition, it is the most modern and full of features, it is a complete EQ. The point is that if you compare just the dynamic aspect though, Sonnox is far superior. It's more precise, and uses the Type-3 EQ from the famous Sony OXF-R3 console, which is frankly very nice and smooth, and sounds divine. For me Sonnox if you just want the dynamic aspect maybe to combine with FF Pro Q-3, Kirchhoff if you want a complete all-round EQ.

 

I can only agree with all you wrote. I have all 3 and Oxford Dynamic EQ is indeed overall better sounding.

 

Change, All Sonnox & All Softube & All ... to Mac Studio M1 or Mini M2 Pro

I somehow think the Ozone 10 Dynamic EQ module is overall better sounding and response with adequate controls. For the past few months I've been using the Baxandall Bass shelf for the low end and it sounds superb. Try that one and compare them before you making any purchase, just a suggestion. It beats the Kirchhoff for me. No idea about Sonnox tho.

Nope. It is not a marketing bullshit at all. It works really, but useless, 64 bit is enough. Tested. If you add hundreds dBs of shelves at highs, for example, and switch 64 vs 117 bit you will see that 117 is several dBs less noisy than 64....they just added more headroom and less quantization noise, but 64 bit is more than enough. 117 bit is for extra digital insanity. It is like 1024x oversampling for your 192 kHz projects and more.....
