Sitting in front of one right now, that's why it caught my eye. Affordable and great piece of kit.

Are you the main man that does the sound design for most of those available patches? I thought it was a huge group. I used to download so many patches from your site, had no idea that was mostly you. Thanks for all that you do for the community BEAT16!

Hi Donut, thanks for your words: So the presets in the video for DR-880 are the 500 factory presets, I didn't do anything. All the soundsets on my website are just mine. There are around 200 sound sets in 11 years. I've used a few other stage names to give the impression that there are several people.

Damn, that must have taken forever to compile!

Holy shit, that's boss! You've done lot of work! You should have called yourself BOSS16! That's insane a one man patch man. Never would have guessed you're a one man operation with that many soundsets.

I downloaded so many different patches off your site throughout the years because I found them on KVR, used quiet a bit to help myself learn sound design when I dove into that world. Great presets, keep it up dude! Thanks a lot for making them and sharing them with the rest of the community, very badass of you to be so generous!

Yeah I tried to compile the default samples years ago before my pc crapped out on me because I thought I might sell it but I couldn't get myself to get rid of that drumkit.

I had no external drive with a backup yet so I gave up exporting after a while because it took FOR EVER, which I ended up losing anyways when the PC destroyed my work. I could definitely understand why some people go DAWless.

No man thank you, you're the bossman putting these together for everyone. I was just the one taking them. I wouldn't have gotten as far in sound design early on if I wasn't reverse engineering all the patches (yours included) to teach myself how to eventually start designing them from the default "init" patch which was very intimidating to me at first. I hope you keep putting them out for another 11 years!

 

Thank you @Donut Nyamer for sharing your experience here. I have over 1.2 million user downloads, but feedback is rare. I am very happy to hear that I was able to contribute a little to the fact that the music world has become a bit more diverse.

 

Hiding in the shadows? Smart move. I like to give every track group a fictional name and a horoscope. My Tik Tok fans love to read all the wikipedia pages and my sales have skyrocketed.

 

Good idea @droplet. I also find ghostwriters and whistleblowers very interesting. The anonymity protects against attacks.
