It's reserved for multicast use. You would only want to give it local access and not internet access.

 

I am on Ventura, m1, I own little snitch

so how do I do this on a Mac cause i unblocked it on a m1 ventura test machine and logic crashes

Same problem for me,
the communication between the smarteq3 instances is blocked by NordVpn
I am in contact with the developers at their site and waiting for a solution...

nothing smart about the SONIBLE malware tactics, its not a special eq at all, I have plugin alliance, waves...this is nothing near someone those plugins, infact the best eqs depending which type as like by Eventide and those mentioned, the sonible is in ranks of 25-30 as for scores in my opinion.

 

About 2 years ago, I tested the official demo of SmartEQ 2 demo since I was really interestd in the product. But it didn't work in macOS. So I had to contact support. And it took them WEEKs to respond without a real solution. I decided then and there that I won't buy anything from them with this kind of support.

Anyway, with SmartEQ 3, you need to grant the plugin access to Port 226.0.0.1 in order for the plugin instances to communicate with each other via UDP. This is from their website:

"smart:EQ 3 uses the UDP network protocol to share data among different plug-in instances. Therefore, a typical reason for the inter plugin communication error could be that your firewall blocks network connection."

 

I know this, there is not reason for an EQ to require a user to do this, it should work like all EQs, the UDP protocol is not necessary, its like a malware add-on and wont work in Ventura, cause adding it causes problems anyway

 

Malware? Don't the conspiracy theories ever get old? It's very easy to be paranoid about things, when you do not understand what you are doing. Since it is your 25-30th ranked EQ it's not even worth typing more about. Simply delete it.
