here's the first track of a new project with my mate Terraplane.
We've mostly recorded guitar parts and then tweaking and mangling the sounds.
We'll be more than glad to have some feedback about this track,

hello! love the ideas and the atmosphere around this track! the bass is also recorded? what maybe i wanted to try making in this track, could be the percussions/beat part less "direct" in the mix, giving more space in the ambience. nice work

As a bass player, loving the groove.could do with some more low end though :D

 

Well done! Nothing to worry about.
If I had to mix it, I might lower the bass level a little (-2dB maybe) but add some low end to it (not too much, like +2..3dB)
What's the intended audience?

I must admit that we didn't really consider that, I can't even say what genre this track is... ^^
Maybe someone has an idea?
A friend of mine who's DJ asked me about putting the track in one of his deep house set but I'm pretty sure it isn't deep house...

 

Man, I love this. It has that old school down south 'ruffneck' society feel, if that makes any sense. I wish the mix were a bit wider and a few of the percussive sounds less bright. I imagine the intro of a tv show or a movie like "Black Snake Moan", at least the first section of it.

 

Nice...want more...feed me.

Very cool Vibe, Kind of has a VooDoo Feel to it. Southwest, VooDoo at least thats what I feel when listening to it. Really want to hear More of this!!

 

The recordings sound like they have a slight "film" over them, lacking a certain clarity. But I really like the songs themselves.

 

Southwest, exactly...I just crossed from Texas to New Mexico, can't you smell it?

Theivery Corporation kind of comes to mind, but it has this kind of Old West sound mixed with it. I like it.
