Does anyone here notice that politics always bring out the oppositional forces within us?

It's absolutely what the political system was meant to do.
Segregate (I apologize for the term) minions to mind their endless quarrels while they consistently feed the system put into place.
I have to admit that I too am a part of that feeding but I truly believe that there is a spiritual significance to all of this.

There are laws of nature and of love that rest in the fundamental principal of reaping what we sow. This is a science that has been neglected and negated for a long time.

Argumentative mindsets may seem constructive from the outside point of view as a way of reaching compromise but compromise is not what's needed.
A convicted and steadfast mentality is the only way to change what is and bring about what is not.

Our voting for dreams will not help.

Most Republicans are RHINO's already.. Republicans in name only, so Trump subverting them, doesn't really mean anything
as it might have in the past. The Republican party hasn't really stood for anything for a long time. It goes back to not wanting
to be criticized and attacked by the vicious left who will think nothing of destroying someone using any of the convenient cards
such as "racist" , "sexist" , "homophobe" . EVERYTHING they threw at Trump by the way, but he just shrugged it off.

    He's simply an outsider in insider's clothes, but then he had every right to be;
and what do we need insiders for.. if they only look out for their own and corporate
    interests anyway... ?

You've got to be kidding. Maybe you have all day to sit around stroking your childish ego by playing tit-for-tat word games, but I don't. When I have time, I will indulge you in this little wordplay fantasy you seem to relish. But don't expect me to play with you all day long, youngster. In the meantime, find something meaningful to do with all this time you have on your hands; hmmm..like maybe take a long walk in the park. You spend far too much time at your computer.

I didn't call black people apes. I called the people assaulting a man for having done nothing apes. Why twist my words? Because you think if it was three whites against a black I wouldn't have insulted them? EDIT: It reminded me a lot of the attack on Reginald Denny, although I was just more than a kid back then
And of course, black or white or yellow, I was just angry, as Herr said, after having watched the clip and realized this is a (sad) reality.

Tell me, what do you think you know about Monk? I used to think that you were a nice guy, Herr. But, you're saying an awful lot to change that opinion. The Internet is a strange place. Here I am engaging in a contentious discussion with two guys I absolutely do not know. The funny part? People can say whatever the hell they want under the cloak of anonymity. I'm not one of those. Let me also tell you this, Just because you think that you have all the answers to these extremely complex problems, doesn't mean that we have to follow your line of reasoning. You do an awful lot of talking here, and sometimes I may actually agree with some of the things you say, but I have my own opinions on many issues. If somebody disagrees with you, you don't have to go all Rambo, buddy. Sometimes you need to sit back and listen to what others are saying. There are a few people at this site who think that whatever they say is Gospel. I think otherwise. Many voices, many opinions.

Could not agree more. Politics, like Religion, can bring out the Mr. Hyde in most of us. Why? Because it's personal. Politics affects just about every endeavor that we partake of in this world. Religion (if you're so inclined) also hits some people at the core of their being. We can disagree about food, music, etc. But, when you throw Politics into the mix? Look out! I've been around the block quite a few times, so I know what to expect. Hell, even in my own family, things can get real crazy over political 'discussions" -- real fast!

I was tempted to hit that Disagree rating but like NYCGRIFF said, your opinion matters, bro.
    :mates:

I know it. I had a girlfriend once who had completely different ideas of the "way it should work". We would get completely lost in our opposing ideas and at times seem to forget who we were to each other.
Remembering again was always fun though.

Still praying for healing on your hand, brother.

Thanks for mentioning. Last week, I played a series of chords. I thought it sounded pretty decent, but my two cats and better half ran and hid in the closet. <lol> Getting better every day, brother. Still, won't be playing with the guys again anytime soon, though.

As much as you and I differ on just about everything, I always appreciate your honesty and genuine fire. I'm very pleased that the guys did not "ban" you. So are a lot of other people. I will give all of this acrimony a rest (for now). Will holler at you later, dude.

You and I often talked about one of the more underrated little "Sci-Fi" flicks. The "evil" often comes disguised as something familiar. However, underneath the veneer, the true nature of the horror awaits to unleash some really bad shit upon you. This movie should rank much higher at "Rotten Tomatoes". And, you hit the nail right on the head with your Pinkman observation. He's the 'real' "Voice of Reason" at/on this site. I have nothing but the utmost respect for his consistent pragmatism, words of wisdom, and most importantly, his calm and measured demeanor. I raise my large glass of very dark ale to this fine gentleman! (Tastes damn good right about this hour). <lol>
