Something "smart"? is happening with this compressor.

    Last release on sister site of Sonible smart Comp. I tried it with simple click track and here are the results.
    Is kinda of "analog" emulation or imperfection? Look at yelow line how it work over time.

    To make sure i understand...

    What youre showing us is that the overall output level is going up and down over time on just a click track? That is weird.

    I found another weird bug.

    Longer story shorter: I copied the values from setup A to setup B manually and had to set a different output value to obtain the same peak! And both setups sounded differently (one more open and louder)!

    I reloaded the plugin, repeated the same procedure and this time the other setup was louder.

    This is kind of annoying. Over at kvr we were discussing some of the bugs with smart comp on like release day. Namely how closing and reopening the UI can reset the plugin to its "Smart" state even if you had changed it. Or something like that. Dev promised a quick update. The update just happened like a week or two back, and now more bugs.

    I really like what the spectral section of this comp does sometimes. It's kind of a gamble since you only have so much control over it, but when it works it really works. I like that it lets you change the attack and release curves and has pre attack and pre release hold. I like how it sounds (or rather "doesn't" sound). It's sidechain ducking is spectacular. There would be so much about this plugin to love if they would just.. you know.. fix it.

    What i discovered was accidental. I have my set of tests for compressors. Wish the devs a lot of luck.
