Holy shit I was gone so long I first accidentely typed in audiosex.com... :wow:

However... I'm searching for some little device, to connect to my SmartLav+ Microphone and record. I wanna put the mic in my motorcycle jacket and record with it, because my action cams mic is located in the front of the cam (smart move) so that is records all that nice wind noise. All previous attempts of me to somehow fix that failed. I taped of the mic slot, used foam from an old headset, even tried a cotton-filling... always just wind noise, and a tiny bit of engine sound.
Than I found out, if I use a second mic in my jacket, I dont have wind noise. I previously just used my smartphone to record, but I use that quiet often for navigation on my handlebars, so Im trying to find something to replace it.
I thought maybe an old MP3-Player? I have an old smartphone, but the mic-in is broken :snuffy: What else is cheap and could do the job? Possibly for free because I or a friend/family member already owns it and doesnt really need it (like an old MP3-Player...)?
    Any ideas?

The trrs connector will make things difficult if you don't use a smartphone...

Maybe you could try a cheap voice recorder and then you could sync the audio and video feed in post. Nowadays, there are a lot of no-name recorders that can do a decent job. Of course, you can always turn to the still-accessible-but-not-so-cheap recorders in the lines of Tascam or Zoom. Anyway, it's good to know from you again, Someone, after a long while. I open you're doing good.

You can bypass the SDC stereo mics and input an external 1/8" source mic.

I was just about to recommend the H1 too. It's cheap, it runs from a single AA battery (rechargable works too) and it does the job well.

As for the Mic: Thanks for the idea of putting the mic inside the jacket!
Another try might be those larger animal furs, they're said to reduce even stronger wind noise by a satisfactory amount.

I have an H1 and it's been rock solid for a few years now.

Hm... I actually didnt want to buy a full recorder. I already have the mic, and its not all that bad. Buying a recorder with an internal mic... would make my SmartLav+ useless.

Doesnt anybody have an idea of what I might be able to use with my trrs connector? Arent there recording devices for external mics??? I mean maybe I could get a used one cheap and use an adapter for the trrs...?

What about a Soundman DR2? Could get one for 35€ new...

Yeah, okay... Not doing nearly as much music as I used to, due full time job etc. Need to much time for workouts on the bike or adrenaline rushs on the bigger bike  Making music is for rainy days.
