Hi again as I mentioned earlier here is one of my tracks.
This one is a remix of a track by Nenna Yvonne called "Go Around"
It is also entered in a remix contest @ Indaba.com so if and when you check it out please vote if you like it, you do not need to register or sign up for anything so it is quick and easy.
The contest has only 5 days left to run and at the moment i am number 16 out of 425 so I am doing well but could be better.

Great programming and mixing. If I have to put my finger on something I don't like ( I prefer to hear the bad stuff about my tracks, mixed in with all the good stuff hehe), the squashing of the dynamics. It sounds quite flat - I would easy up a little on the comps. It's gonna sound awesome in your car, and everything will pop out in the mix, but on my Genelecs 8040a's and even on my headphones it sounds quite flat. The folks you are sending it to will surely prefer your version but... well... that's too bad, cause those nicely woobling bass sounds and kick would surely sound better, less crunched.

aaaaawe mayn. I just went through the top 10 entries on the leader board, OMG it's all awful. Don't feel bad if you don't win - it just shows that it's a "Who's got most facebook friends game".

Hi Peter thanks for checking it out and voting and I will ease the compression on the next mix I do and see what the difference is.

 

The actual winner is picked by the artist but as there are 425 entries I think its better to be in the top 10 or 20 so that you have more chance of the artist hearing your mix, if you are number 385 I dont know what chance you will get of them hearing it, 425 versions of a track is a lot of listening

It is not my genre, but I've got to tell ya....you really hit it spot on. I listened to the original, then listened to your reinterpretation. Your version 'fits well' with the lyrics and general message...I hope that makes sense. You didn't make changes just for the sake of doing it, rather, it seems you actually put thought into it.

And one of the other posters was correct, the others in the top ten were really unimpressive. They got away from what the song is about, just doing changes because they could.

I voted for ya, and wish you good luck with it!!! You do have a cool sense of musical vision....

voted for you out of audioz solidarity. Though very good remix I must admit, despite I found this r&b american crap awful.Americans are the kings of bad tastes. I'm on indaba as well doing prop-psy. It's hard for me to find songs I like . Last year I missed the Depeche Mode one picked by Martin Gore out of the first 10, and no, the artist of course don't listen to 400 mixes, other people do the job. Anyway the 4th or 5th remix was a THOUSAND time better than the ultra crappy one selected by Gore. So don't forget it means nothing, like evaluation and IQ tests or anything involving democracy. Look what happen to the world when you authorized any twat above 18 to vote...anyway bye and good luck.

I have managed to get to number 13 out of 425 which is not too bad and now we have to wait about 4 weeks for the artist to decide who the real winner is.
