Anyone know why some vst are listed as unsupported in Audition 3.0 and Acid 6.0?

Melda MDrummer and some of the Arturia V collection 4 are unsupported.

    Windows 7 64 bit.

I assume both Audition and Acid 6.0 are 32 bit so both of the above mentioned programs have 32 bit version installed.

    Thanks in advance.

may not be when you want to hear, but if i were you, i'd just upgrade Audition. i was a loyal user of 3.0 until i ran into that same issue...not to mention the ability to create/use mono tracks/buses. not sure about Acid though. :dunno:

Audition 6 should be easy to find on 'the other side'. if you're working in 32-bit, you'd need Audition 5. good luck!

Thanks. My PC is 64 bit. Will my 32 bit vst plug-ins work with 64 bit Audition?

Cannot remember if and how I may have solved the issue with Acid and VSTi loading.
I've had the issue with Acid over the years after version 4 I beleive. I finally gave up after stumbling upon Reaper. Now I'm testing Samplitude.
Look in the menu for a link to something called Plugin Magnager I think (exists in Sound Forge, not sue about Acid). The Plugin Manager allows
selecting by check box what plugins load and how. ie...as an VST FX or VSTi.

Found this on the Sony forum. May lead to a solution...

I had the same problem with Amplitube 2 and Sampletank.
I found this fix from someone and it worked !

    1. Launch your DAW by right clicking its icon and select "Run as administrator".
    2. Rescan your VST folder for new plugins. Amplitube gets loaded and the above mentioned file is created. You should be able to use the VST.
    3. Quit your DAW.
    4. Go to c:\Windows with file explorer.
    5. Find the file "msocreg32.dat", right click it and select properties from the context menu.
    6. Go to the security tab
    7. Click "Edit". A UAC box will appear to ask you for permission and allow it.
    8. Select the "Users" group.
    9. Set a checkmark next to "Modify" in the lower list.
    10. Click twice on "OK" to close both dialogs.
    11. Launch your DAW as you normally would.

nope. 64 bit Audition 6, x64 VSTs only...unless you use a bridge program (jbridge is great for this).

won't lie: i'm currently running Aud 5 (32-bit) on a 64-bit OS (taboo, i guess), but i haven't had any issues so far. i do have aud 6 and the 64-bit VSTs, just too lazy to do all that re-installing at the moment.

Thanks! I got MDrummer L working in Acid. That's the one I wanted most.

Ableton is awesome! All of my unsupported VSTs work in Ableton 8.0.

Even the Cutoff and Resonance knobs on my old Yamaha DJX work!!
