    Reasons for inflation:
    - Chip shortage (due to destroyed supply chains / lockdowns Corona crisis)
    - Expensive raw materials and expensive power supply (wood, oil, gas) due to shortages / sanctions / supply chain collapse
    - Higher transport costs and worse Euro/Dollar exchange rate

    Examples:
    - Moog Grandmother from 879 € to 1444 € [+64.28 %]
    - Moog Subsequent 25 from 939 € to 1444 € [+ 53.78 %]
    - Drummer From Another Mother from 559 € to 839€ [+50%]

I think this will only get worse over the next couple of years. We've had it good for quite some time really. Just shows how just a couple of things can have such a major knock on affect

That's a Fact. If you Compare Thomann (Worlds Largest Music Online Shop) (Most people don't know they got a very big store with a lot of Employess which need to be Paid as well as Energy etc. Against Musotec (7 Employess and a very small store. So in Times like this (espacilly here in Germany, because we made us dependent from Russian energy wise and now pay the price) it's impossible to Match the Price. Would be nicer to see a Comparision of Thomann and the second Big Seller.

Stuff like Moog or Yamaha XF etc. is where they make heavy wins not on an 50-100 € Midi Keyboard.

But here it is NOT Thomann raising prices : it is Moog !
And other sellers may follow with new batch sells.

    Official statement from Moog:

The ongoing global challenges of material shortages, supply chain limitations, inflation, as well as rising raw goods and shipping costs, have made it necessary to adjust some of our pricing. A price increase is not a decision we take lightly, but one that is needed to ensure we can continue delivering the high-quality products you deserve.

Thank you for understanding and for being a part of our creative community.

Not to be rude, but have you been living under a stone for the last 1 1/2 years? Nearly all items you can buy have increased 10-200% over the previous 1 1/2 years due to:
    • Covid (shortage of products being produced)
    • Lack of materials (especially raw materials) to produce products
    • Due to COVID and lockdown in China, there is a shortage of products, so huge brands will buy out production capacity from other companies by paying the factories more.
    • Issues with supply chain (HUGE demand for containers/shipping from Asia - the shipping prices have increased by 1000-1500% that's ONLY for containers, add fuel and other costs to increased shipping costs).
    • Inflation worldwide
    • War (Russia and Ukraine) and the international situation are causing a decrease in products (microchips from Taiwan, for example).
    • A massive increase in fuel prices, increasing the shipping prices even more
ALL businesses worldwide selling goods have been growing their sales prices due to higher costs from the suppliers/brands, regardless of industry. It's a bloody, perfect storm these days... :(

There will be differential pricing, like the Amazon price, but that's because they have items in stock with a lower cost price (bought at a time before cost prices increased) compared to the price now.

Lol wanted to write the same. Dunno if u ever watched the supermarket prices.. But in our country (Netherlands) the last few months almost every product raised by 25%. Also, the energy prices in some cases are doubled and don't even want to walk about wood prices etc. But yeah it's inflation, and it's like a domino effect: When the energy prices are absurdly high, products become more expensive to make. Guess it is caused mainly by what Pinhead12 said..

I just replaced a very shitty and cheap Befaco expression pedal which sucked from day one as the action wasn't smooth and made it very hard to...express. I finally replaced it as it gave up the ghost. I bought a Moog pedal which is excellent quality and built like it should last a lifetime (in my case who the fuck knows:rofl:how long that'll be) which was just CHF 52.°°. It might have been old stock as I've seen the same model go for about 79. I guess I got a deal.:dunno:

Same here in Spain. But despite being related and overlapped, the causes of late global inflation in most products is not the same as the one on the semiconductors.

    Saw this coming.
Bought about 7K worth of gear in June on 6 months free interest during Monster Days at my local music store.
And actually got everything I ordered:woot:
Interested to see what the prices are 6-12 months down the road.
Or what, if anything, is actually available and in stock:rofl:

wtf? I got mine new for 750something us. I wanted the blacked out one but now I'm sort of happy with the Circus Version.

That is crazy. I could probably buy another tomorrow, new; for about the same price. Maybe 800.

This time next year these prices might look like bargains.

Look on the bright side, you can relive your youth where you couldn't afford to buy any new music gear except maybe strings (after trying to boil your old set) and plecs. Starving musicians make real music. The fat, pompous know-it-all, have-it-all producers of mediocre garbage of today might learn something about what their heroes went through to succeed. No offence.
