Not worth that today I can assure you, Soundcloud was propping itself up like the corner whore for a buyout but it didn't come and won't. It's a shame really because somewhere between that, spotify and apple music is a perfect solution.
I just intended to give info about the "number of music creators" being almost active now mostly based on western culture not the selling system because this section is for our music. If we assume it's a right number and divide the world population (7.4 billion) to it, we will get the number 740. It shows 1 in every 740 persons is a producer. Of course most of them are amateur. It was just a raw estimation without considering other parameters.
MMM, no, most of people who upload Soundcloud music or audio are not producers, they are DJ wannabes (almost fucking half, everyone is a DJ nowaday), ghost labels who trick newcomers, idiots who spam all day long to listen to his/her shitty track, scams that wanna promote anyone on their 200 follower network and everyone who wanna share fast an audio link on millions of forums around the world. Few producers left at the end, right?

Did that consider fake accounts, spam bots, multiple accounts for a single person, people who re-upload tracks, etc.
I'm the one looking for a quickie (a sound or 2-3 notes) just to show off on a forum ..and (I think) I have 2 accounts. But will get my act together and make a third one - this time well organized.. aso well statistics are a b... (avoiding famouslut's lawyers) lol
Er... no. Sorry to be a total maths nazi, bro', but If you assume the figure to be correct, the guesstimate would only be relevant to how many persons have a Soundcloud account.
