"For a limited time, get our lowest-ever price on UAD Ultimate 10. Plus, we’ll upgrade you to Ultimate 11 for free when it launches in November!"
    I own a UAD Apollo Twin X Duo Heritage. The amount we're talking about is € 999 - € 173.38 VAT = € 825.62
    Deadline is 10/31.

Okay, first things first. The one and only question I need to ask myself is: "do I really need this?" The answer is, yes and no.

    - Yes, because it can definitely improve my mixing, as I already tested most of them in the past (several times a 14 day trial, you know how it works). Also, I could replace - and sell - similar emulations from other developers that are just less in quality. For example: DDMF EMT 250 vs UAD EMT 250. Furthermore, I'm a UAD fan so will end up buying more tools eventually. During Black Friday and other sale periods obviously.
    - No, because I didn't 'need' them before and figured out other ways to get to a similar result. Also, I don't really make any money with my producing and mixing (yet). But things might change next year.

So, that makes it difficult to decide. Sharing thoughts with other users might be helpful. What would you do, for example? Anyway, this discount is huge and maybe a once in a lifetime opportunity. Although I agree, this sounds a bit exaggerated. However, we're living in uncertain times with already high prices in daily life. Now, can I afford it? In a way, yes. Will it be wise or a responsible investment? Maybe not (at this time).

    Here's the list of plug-ins I'll get:

    Compressors & Limiters
    Precision Buss Compressor
    dbx 160
    EL8 Distressor
    Manley Variable MU
    Neve 2254/E
    SSL 4000 G
    UA 175B & 176
    API 2500

    Delay & Modulation
    Korg SDD-3000
    MXR Flanger Doubler

    Equalizers
    Harrison 32C
    Neve 1081
    Neve 31102
    Trident A-Range
    API 500 series

    Guitar & Bass
    Distortion Essentials
    Fender '55

    Mastering
    Precision Multiband
    Precision EQ
    Precision Limiter
    Precision K-Stereo

    Preamps & Channel Strips
    API
    Avalon VT-737
    Manley Tube
    Neve
    Neve 1084
    Neve 88RS
    SSL 4000 E
    V76
    API Vision

    Reverbs
    DreamVerb
    EMT 140
    AKG BX 20
    Capitol
    EMT 250
    Lexicon 480L
    Ocean Way

    Special Processing
    Ampex ATR-102
    Precision Enhancer kHz
    SPL Transient Designer
    Thermionic Culture Vulture
    Precision Enhancer Hz
    Fatso Jr/SR
    Moog Multimode Filter

The free update to U11 will most likely result in some extra tools. I've read somewhere that one of them probably will be the Hitsville EQ Collection. But for me that's just a bonus. By the way, I'm not interested in 'UAD is overrated' comments as I don't belong to that group. :winker:

    Shoot! :thanks:

How many of these do you already have without buying anything? That list is a lot of excellent plugins. Are you are getting more work/processing done out of the hardware interface than you would with Spark? You could say this price is the same as 3 years of some of the better plugin subscription services (roughly).

That money would probably do more good elsewhere (upgrading studio monitors, proper acoustic treatment, mics, instruments, etc.).

But let's be honest, you're gonna buy it anyway, aren't you? You can't fool me.

Hmz let's see, about 9 from other developers (Waves, DDMF, Plugin Alliance, IK Multimedia T-RackS, Solid State Logic). From the 17 available Spark plug-ins, I already have 11. Combined with the DSP hardware, I hardly run out of resources at the moment.
True, or even weekly expenses that are not music related. Haha, it's very tempting indeed, but I really want to make my choice carefully.
