I have the Roland A800 Pro at home and the drivers i can get from roland page are not for windows 10. They also do not work for it.

Only solution is to run windows update, but this cant see the device since its not plugged in. And there is no way to bring it to the place with internet.

Are there any other solutions. And i hate it that companies give a shit about ppl who do not have internet at home.

    Thanks for your help.

I had a similar problem with my printer, but the printer is always visible as device - not only when its plugged in, so there you could just run driver search, when you are connected to the internet without the device at your hand.

Driver pack does not recognize the A800Pro-R. The drivers from the Roland CD do not work.

Windows 10 Update does not work, since the A800Pro-R is not plugged in.
I will write Roland support now - got my serial # here.
Let them come up with a solution ...

Im really pissed off now ...

Hello @ArcticStorm, I wish you the best of luck with the support.
You need an offline installer from Roland. I'm curious if they have something like that.
The best system was Windows 7.

Windows 10 is actual fine, when fine tuned and you have constant internet.

Installing my new printer, was actual very smooth, as i setup it up at my other place, where i stayed over last winter.

But if you have no internet, then gettings drivers sucks very much ...

You should reach the next civilization with an internet connection with your PC and your master keyboard.

not paying 40€ for a slow internet connection with phone, tv, cloud storage, when i can solve this with zero cost with faster internet.
Also i am not at home most of the time.

On the bright side, the keybed is amazing, almost like my Xboard from 2006, but a lil bit smoother, comes closer to my old keyboard, which i bought in the 90s.

With us you go to the neighbor and ask if you can connect your internet connection cable to your PC for 15 minutes to update the drivers.
If you measure with the ruler, you will find that the keys are a little shorter. The Japanese have slightly smaller hands. I think the keys are 1.5 cm shorter and therefore tighter. Ah the E-MU - I'm always happy at the company.

The forerunner of the Roland A-800 Pro was the Edirol PCR-800. Edirol (Edi and Roland = Edirol).

    Maybe this will help you:
Normally you will install a Roland driver on your computer to use the A-Pro series keyboard, but if there is not a driver available, or if you are connecting to a device that does not allow drivers to be installed (such as an iOS device), you can change the USB Advanced Driver Setting to "OFF." This will allow the A-Pro to use the built-in USB driver in the system (such as Core MIDI):

    1. Simultaneously press the ACT button and the < button.

    2. Use the VALUE knob to select “USB SETTING,” and press ENTER.

    3. Use the VALUE knob to select “USB ADV DRIVER,” and press ENTER.

    4. Use the VALUE knob to specify the USB MIDI driver setting.

    • OFF: Choose this if you want to use the standard MIDI driver provided by your operating system.
    • ON: Choose this option is you will be installing a Roland USB driver on your system.
    5. Press ENTER to confirm the setting and return to PLAY mode on the A-Pro.

    6. Re-start the A-Pro keyboard to finalize the setting.

Please give feedback whether it worked :)

If you want to get the drivers anyways from "windows update" without using windows update just goto https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Home.aspx
and type "a-pro" on the search and you will get the driver to install. Its listed as "Roland - MEDIA - 1.0.3.0". Its a cab file download so extract and update driver manually. snap_screen_20211110175949.png

This looks like a keeper for later ;)

Roland could have linked there :dunno: - But i guess the page is not official?

Meanwhile i installed it with a little TRICK:
As i was at home last night i plugged the A-PRO in, and kept the Device Menu open, unplugged again and later today, i put the windows update on hold and clicked update driver - Windows 10 searched online and viola it is installed now.

But i will keep @demha idea/link for when i install the new computer next year.

@U.O.L. was also a good idea!

@BEAT16 thanks for sending me the ROLAND CD ;)

I will give feedback if it now finally works - I hope!
