It's no surprise the Harmony Improvisator guys could afford a iLok protection. Only with x32 version 1.0(.1?) there are several amazing demos and tuts in YT.

Synfire is ilok and serialised, the developer went through great length to secure his app
Synfire has about 4 levels of security.
    1. Its Ilok
    2. Its serialised meaning a serial code is embedded in the app which is unique to the purchaser.
    3. The costumer's name used to buy the app is hard coded in the app.
    4. When downloading the app from the members only account the app is compiled on-line in real time, custom compile with Serial code and account holders name embedded to the app code.
So if some one shares the app online cognitone will be able to trace who leaked it and ban the account, so no more updates.

This will be the reason you not find a crack for it any time soon.
The express version is great and can be updated, they do sales all the time.
You can also email them and ask for a discount.
Lots of time I miss a sale, I email vender and ask for a discount %99 of time they will give.

wow, thats a true blackstar-stallinian type bastion ... ! :woot:

in 15 years of computer music making, that probably explains why i have NEVER EVER heard of that software before, and believe it or not, i have discovered the name of that prog yesterday by reading here in this thread! anyways , the only source i feed from is AW and other software that has such obvious levels of protections or who do not appear on AW simply does not exist for me, if those companies decides to burry themselves up, it is their own choice.

I have Synfire and it's incredibly difficult to use.The documentation is very technical and it's quite confusing.Once you get it it's pretty amazing because you can remix a complete song in seconds without it sounding weird, similar to the original song or static like all the other algo based programs.RapidComposer is also very confusing, too.You might want to check out Liquid Music and Liquid Notes as well.

i can certainly +1 for J74 progresso which i bought a while back and it's very good.
that said, i still don't know if i am using it properly - and the youtube videos are ok up to a point but i wish there was some narration because my brain goes on the fritz when things like music theory come into play...
improvisator is a bit old now, but, again, i have gotten some sweet music from it... so if anyone knows of any clear tuition on j74 that would be fantastic.
ps. oh and, yes, cthulhu is very good, esp. the arpeggiator :)
