I like to do this by hand, but you can listen to the audio files walking through the folders. I have reduced 100GB of samples to 10GB this way and selected drums and other sample types to my taste before selecting them inside the DAW to use them.
Nobody needs a million samples, when you only use 1000 or even less.

yes that ability is my next thread I think. Best audio tagging software (there are SO many) I'll start a new thread for that one..

your answer wins best answer especially with the moogerfooger avatar which is epic. How do I mark this thread SOLVED, do you know? I'm new to AS here (but I LOVE it already). this thread went incredibly well and fast.

Sononym for samples + Atlas 2 for more creative usages

If you use Renoise, Sononym has an integration tool with Renoise (since both are made by the same Devs). Quite handy.

Loopcloud. People bitch about the subscription-based model but if you know how to use this tool, it's next level. Especially if your DAW's built-in sample manager sucks (like Logic).. Atlas 2 for one-shots/ drumkit building.

ADSR Sample manager is decent for loops.
For one-shots I have been using Algonauts Atlas.

I have Sononym indexing an external drive. 2 hours later it is 4% done. :woot:

I would be curious to know how (more like what) it is detecting and declaring Root key/pitch and BPM on things I have sampled from movies/films.

Atlas 2 Main - Algonaut is the best imo, with it you can in example save your samples as bank for different music genre

I haven't found the option to "send them to a new folder" yet, it will send them to a new LIBRARY, but that seems proprietary and not a new folder..hmm

Select Samples, Add to New Project Ctrl+Shift+D then Click Show Project options or Ctrl+E and then export. In Preferences you can enable Automatic Export for newly created projects.
