    Arturia.

I know this is a quality product. I know that some of the sounds are simply great. I really really want to love it.

But I can't. I can never get any of those sounds to sit within a given track. Beats me why, certainly the failing is mine and not the software.

Anyone else have issues like this?

    Good morning friend,
I understand you can't fit their sounds in the mix part?
Pd: sorry for my English, it's not my language but I'm in it ...
    Thanks a lot

You know how some instruments can sound great when isolated but for whatever reason just don't "sit" well in a track/mix?

I was so excited when I bought Waldorf Blofeld. "I will make so many hits with it. Sounds so great." Here we are 7 years later. I don't even keep it on my desk anymore. Everytime I tried to use it, the sounds out of it just won't fit. Of course, it is not the gear's problem, just mine. :dunno:

Reaper, I know how capable it is but feels totally unintuitive workflow-wise for an Ableton user

    Sample Logic.

Apart from Expeditions, I don't know that Ive ever found one of their overblown libraries useful.

    Interesting topic.

I bought V Collection 3 years ago and upgraded up to V5 but I just didn't use it enough. Something about the sound I just couldn't vibe with either. Lately, its been the same with Native Instruments and UAD. With the exception of Maschine, I hardly use any of their stuff anymore. I also own an Apollo Twin USB with 90% of the UAD plugins and I hardly ever use them.

What I find interesting is how being spoiled for choice can affect what we choose to use. These enormous suites of plugins at our disposal and we generally stick with just a few. Overwhelmed by choice definitely plays a part but I feel we instinctively gravitate toward one tool that can do many things vs many tools that can only do a few.

These days I tend to use UVI stuff quite a bit. I mainly use Falcon for nearly everything. Even though I own a large chunk of their libraries, it doesn't feel overwhelming to me since everything is accessed through one interface. The interface feels comfortable and self contained without it being distracting, which is why I also like using Maschine and its expansions.

    Great Topic,

I never got into Serum, not even Sylenth ( Both legit ) I have the same issue with Arturia, sometimes I find that Jupiter 8 Sound and sometimes it a waste of time. Reaktor is another one that I ended up downloading loads of patches from the user library and I've never used one XD

Same goes for studio one and Bitwig.

Apologies in advance as there's nothing wrong with this software.

Cubase (I've had access to legit all the way up to V9); it's an amazing, world-class DAW, but every time I've ever used it, it's sucked the creativity right out of me.

In past , that software was Serum and i was preferring Avenger over it.
But now is totally opposite thing....I learned to love its sound.
9yrs ago i have bought PT 9 i think it was, and for first time use i have been disappointed so i sold it for couple of beers at that time .....

Steven Slate drums, Slate digital plugins, and i most feel sorry for Brainworx plugins i cant get along with their guis, for me are to complicated even if sound rocks.
Waves either i dont like them at all, except a couple of them from that BIG bundle, and most of the Arturia thing....
At end of day i end up with Fabfilter and lately i simply love Solid State Logic plugins sound.

It is me and maybe my wrong habbits....

Pro Tools and anything that claims to have that"analogue" sound. So many plugins claiming to emulate their real hardware counterpart but don't and people getting lost down that rabbit hole chasing after its recreation, especially tape plugins none of which sound like tape!

Analogue is mic to console to tape (16,24,48 track) then tape to console to tape (2 track), then mastered to tape and put on vinyl. The minute you engage a computer anywhere in the chain or master to anything but vinyl or tape you're no longer analogue.
So since 99% are using a computer lets leave this analogue sounding, chasing, hardware emulating nonsense and go digital. It's only been that way since the mid-80's. How much further along would we be on digital platforms such as UAD, Waves and others if we stop all this make it sound analogue crapolla!!!?

Hmm, it's better than EXS...which isn't saying a whole lot.

    What sampler do you use?
