    You and me both.

Regarding Dynasone, though, this was 2000-2001, back when the fastest Mac around still had a G3 or G4 chip. I don't think it was even technologically capable of pulling an automatic mastering plugin off. The plug made everything sound too loud and too "plastic", even if you turned off its "Automix" function and tried to adjust its multiband dynamics yourself.

@OP Waves L2 limiter solves your problem, if you dont want to "git gud" at mixing&mastering OR invest money to let a pro do the mastering.

so taking a step back, its really a "return of investment" ploy. Do you have a budget to hire someone ? if the budget is tight, maybe the "quality" have to be sacrificed along the way.

L2 isn't by far the best limiter anymore. Haven't used it for years now.

no doubt about that. i dont use L2 anymore honestly. but in principle. "put a limiter on the masterbus and CRANK it"
before you send out the track. Because who ever is gonna listen to the track, is going to not want to touch the volume control.
ofcourse im not telling You this @No Avenger you already know :mates:

C'mon, L2 is still great! I dunno about using it crank a mix, but it literally has two controls and a GUI a five-year-old (or a mental five-year-old like myself) can figure out. It's still my favorite insert plug for catching stray peaks on a track.

I don't mean it's crap and the GUI is perfectly easy, no doubt, I was talking about the sound. I think some modern limiters just sound better.

It was a simpler time, before multiband limiter plugs were a thing. It's a great utility plug, nothing you'd want to stick on a full mix. On the other hand, the hardware version was (and still is) pretty damn awesome, dunno why Waves stopped manufacturing it.
