Not necessarily, you don't always need an external graphic card, you can do it with an embedded graphic chip CPU, i have a Xeon E3-1275 v6 with integrated graphics and all runs fine here, sometimes external graphics cards don't give you anything more than what you need, if you don't need to play games, or use multiple monitors or work with graphics or heavy video editing you don't really need an external graphic card, just the right cpu, of course an external graphic card can help especially if your cpu is not so new.

some of the softube plugins only have ssx files and no vst 2 or vst 3 files. I am not very smart when it comes to computers so am I missing something cause i dont see any of them when I scan for new plug ins in my DAW. I can't see




and like 8 more of the Softube plug ins all I see is the ssx files in the Program/common files/softube/ssx folder. I have a windows 10 using FL and Samplitude pro. I dont see it in any of them. Would appreciate some assistance if possible

Read the manual, or the website. Those are modules for Softube Modular, not individual plugins.

Rather than apologising for not being "very smart", educate yourself instead. Takes a bit of effort, but it's always worthwhile. No one is born knowing this stuff, we all had to learn - no exceptions, apart from the people who can't be bothered to educate themselves and expect others to do it for them...

Good observation - As we seem to be around the same age bracket, Cakewalk as you well know was pre Sonar. I do not disagree with anything you've said and cannot add to it other than it has almost retrograded to the version when Roland owned it, except with extra features.


For the thread author - - I tested the plugin in Cubase, ProTools and Ableton Live. The only noticeable lag was in Ableton but I fixed that.
How? -
Realistically it has two uses, you either want the digital recording to sound more analog, or you want a specific channel or channels to sound more analog. If the latter, several instruments, either put it on a bus or as an FX channel with a fader so there is only one instance of it(similar principle). If it is the whole mix, then it only needs one insert, on the stereo out.

P.S - It's probably worth noting that I own it. So if the issues are none of what audiophiles here mention, then it is also not unusual for a cracked or reverse engineered version to have issues the purchased version does not.

Never ceases to amaze me this problem is still that common.
I commented it in another thread here and it's not the developers fault but the graphic cards companies (embedded or not). OpenGL implementations are bad, really bad. Especially for 2D GUIs.
It's a good thing OpenGl's successor, Vulkan, can't be ignored that much (It swept the floor with DirectX 11)
A pity that Apple is killing every open standard for its new architecture but I'm sure there're developers making unofficial Metal wrappers for Vulkan.
