i already own the UAD Oxide Tape Recorder and i've planned to buy the Ampex ATR-102 and Studer A800 as they have good offers this day's, maybe i'll get the Fatso jr./sr Tape simulation in near future!
then i don't think that i need any other tape plugins

Do you know if you need an i-lok to use Softube Tape? I just had a look and was deluged with a load of i-lok and gobbler crap. I've never even heard of gobbler. I just want to give them some money for a plugin but I don't want to find out later that I need loads of other crap to make it work.

 

Softube does not require Ilok dongle, it only requires you to have ilok license manager software installed.

 

Thanks. It's a complete pain in the arse and lots of frustration - edit: Now I understand what Gobbler is - Softube's 200Mb license installer (?) I've got it to work but they do make you jump through some hoops for it.

You can get individual installers on the softube website under my downloads when you login to your account. You don't need to use Gobbler.

MF apparently fukked up with that summit pricing

 

100% accurate. In fact, only advantage of Gobbler is updating if you happen to have a lot of plugins in it but it is a system resources parasite. And it needs IT connection Delete it and use individual installers.

 

How long does it take before you receive something? It stated 'a few hours' but I guess they can't handle a busy BF day haha. I paid btw with Paypal after using a VPN and creating an account with a fake address, but with my own name and mail address obviously. Hope it will not mess up things!

 

I ordered the Trident and Summit today. It took 6 hours to get the Trident code, still haven't received the Summit code.

 

Took the plunge with this one even though I'm not in the U.S. Bought via VPN, then took a while for the Key to come through, and then for the installer to appear in my Softube account. Happy to report now that it's all working. Many thanks to the OP for this one.

Still 'processing'

 

The Trident A range that I ordered separately and received code 5-6 hours after order also still says processing on my order page. I don't think the order page updates real time or it would say the order was completed.

The Summit order page also still says processing but no code yet. Just have to wait for the email I guess.
