Softube Console 1 without the "hardware"

    In order for the AAX64 for Softube to work they have to be patched just like the Waves AAX 64

    AAX working for me, but console 1 not, had to TransVST to make it run

    The channel control signal might be sent via network.

    Console 1 exe file listens to 127.0.0.1:3500. The plugin sends packages to it, but the plugin's port varies.

    Now why would they do that? To send only channel selection over the network protocol? ... hmmm

    I have not found a tool to capture the packages. Any suggestion ?

    I used to know a couple of network sniffers [programs for capturing network packages] but I've completely forgotten their names, as I've been on Linux since 3 years ago and lost Windows completely out of the view, except for audio work. Linux has really nice network sniffers, but I don't think that fact can help us sniff Console 1's packages. :( How about searching the web for network packet sniffers? They should be available if you look a bit deeper into the web... :wink: However, once you have it, it asks you to input the IP address of the network card to sniff... not the name of the dll to sniff. Hmmmm something to ponder about. I'm sure some flexible and capable sniffer would help. :wink:

    Hi guys, i'm new. Have a good time!
    For cubase it's not enough! you need to drag the plugin to another track and redrag it in the original place (i setup an empty track for this purpose...). Not practical, but if you display only for a final check...

    i was interested in this product, so i managed to 'try it out' and thanks to this thread. :shalom:

    i will stay with UAD, nothing sounds like UAD-2's neve 1073/1081 :chilling:

    I think Softube`s console 1 is one of the best things that happened in the home production world.
    Its a no bs just straight to the point hardware.
    They certainly have top notch plugins as well.

    Introducing Solid State Logic XL 9000 K-Series for Console 1

    Yes, I was able to switch the console on softube console 1 from the default to the 9000K and here is how I did it.

    Here you can see which files are being used by the console1 plugin and where they are located. This folder also has the 9000K files present.
    - make backup of console related files ssx,scmap
    - rename all 5 matching ssx 9000k modules to the 4000 ones that load by default (ie: 'Console 1 SSL XL 9000 K-Series Gate.ssx' >>>> 'Console 1 SSL SL 4000 E-Series Dynamic Shaper.ssx') all other ones match by name.
    - open scmap files with wordpad for the 4000 console and paste/replace the bottom paragraph with the one from the matching 9000 scmap file (starting with // "Plugin parameter" and below)


    Since this is a workaround as a result of not having the hardware controller, the top right of the plugin will still show SL 4000. However we know the 9000 is loaded because it has a gate rather than a dynamic shaper, so no sustain. Here you can see the difference in the Dynamic Shape window.

    Here we go, fully working, proper graphics, ability to load additional non default eqs/comps! :wink:

    Well I've now switched to editing the %appdata%\Softube\Console 1\Presets\Channel Strip\Default.c1sections file as this is what gets loaded when you create an instance of the plugin.

    For example you can rename
    C:\Program Files\Softube\Plug-Ins VST AAX 64-bit\Resources\Console 1 Factory Presets\Factory Channel Strip\SSL XL 9000 K-Series Console\Default.c1preset
    to %appdata%\Softube\Console 1\Presets\Channel Strip\Default.c1sections and it will load the 9000K console with the correct graphics when you load the plugin next.

    If you open these preset files with a hex editor you can see at the bottom there is a 4 character code to specify which modules to load

    You can edit these to load whichever modules you please, the 4 character codes for each modules found in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Softube\SSX in the scmap files

    If anybody here has some tips and tricks, please let me know. I try opening the "Console-1 On-Screen Display (x64)" and try to open the "Console 1" plugin inside FLStudio 11. The plugin opens but when i click "Show Knobs" nothing happends. I assume that the real Console 1 screen would appear, but i doesn't, any suggestions anyone?

    You need to click on "set track name" and the console GUI will appear.
