    it seems to me that this is a comparison between a carpenter and someone who builds stuff from IKEA-packages.....which also explains the many questions that get posed on this forum: a carpenter knows his materials and knows his tools, what to use and how to build it while the others get instantly lost coz the plan is a puzzle and end up with some parts that they were unable to locate in the plan. Craftmanship means spending a lot of time and focus on something and practice over and over.....the modern day attitude is that everything needs to come prefab and be assembled within the hour. Haste and impatience are not skills, focus and determination are.

    There is always a war between acousticians and electronic lovers and it would never end but let me give an example.
    If someone hits all of the keys on a piano simultaneously, the spectrum of the overall sound would be so similar to 1 or 2. He can also do the same for the other acoustical instruments. I know it's not a good conclusion but to some extent shows the limit of the instruments and the player is not able to discover all the harmonic or non-harmonic structures and dynamics because he makes limitation for himself by the word of the ancient thoughts.
