… and I feel sorry for everybody having to digg deep in their pockets to satisfy the WUP thugs again to migrate their plugins

At last they finally made them resizable!! That's big. I'm looking forward to using them again and rediscovering all the gems in there that were too small to see before.

"Big" disappointment, still no oversampling. This doesn't justify a new version. And there update plan is just stupid.

It must be very tricky to run a 20+ years old plugin company... for me personally, Waves is a distant past, that many still fall for for one reason or another. Kinda like ProTools of plugins. Still, more often then not they make my job easier, when not at my studio.

Good that they've made their plugs resizable. People also really like their 4k monitors...

I just realized: if you have WUP coverage still but don't manually migrate you plugins to the newest version because you simple don't think about it, you would actually have to pay 240 again the following year to migrate all of them. They don't do it for you. WAVES are really just thungs, imo

Update: so it appears to be all that "resizable GUI" is just magnifying same 100% image which leads to blurry low res ui with something more the 100%..ouch

I've loved RBass for years, look into Leapwing Rootone. It's pretty damn good.

Just test it: with zoom 200% the gui is blocky/blurry, still readable but really depressing…

I guess the faster they release a new v12..v13..v14..v15..
The faster people will have to buy new upgrades...

Which makes me think about the whole software thing:
They tell us, give us 100..200.300 bucks for our plugin, (that can be replicated and sold 1 trillion times, for no extra cost) , and you will obtain a license to allow you to use it FOREVER. it is yours, you have a perpetual license.

    Really ?
How many times were we forced to buy an upgrade, because "OUR" purchased version wouldn't be compatible with the upcoming windows/etc version ? Shit, i thought I would be able to use my license until at least 2050 !

How many times were we forced to purchase the new upgrade, because our version had some major bugs still not fixed after many many months..or there were many many essential features missing (like a dry/wet button)... and in order to have a fully working app/plugin, we have no choice but buying the next version.

So, we could keep it and use it forever, right ?...

Never heard about it before. However it seems that Rootone is subharmonic generator while r/maxxbass generates upper harmonics.

It seems Denise Bass XL is something similar to waves ones, need to try it.

Clean install so it is what it is:dunno:
At least on windows you can pass WUPing stuff most of the time, but if i understand you can be locked out of plugins with mac os if Apple do something drastic with os update and its up to Waves to keep up.
Wonder what will happen when ARM macs will be the "thing", are they working with Apple like some other developers atm.:)
