While it's funny I also think it's bollocks !

The comparison is difficult. Jazz, the movement lasted around 50 years. Classical is like ten times that length of time.

I bet your more likely to find more accurate generalisations(If there is such a thing), between more modern genres. E.G.Producers all going for a perfect low end or metal guitarists wanting to play fast.

In a way more of the modern genres are about following the fashion and are milked every last drop. This might create a perception that they are all like emos, or Drum'n'bassers or whatever they're calling it these days.

People like to be put into boxes.

There are lots of things we don't know yet and will never know any time just because we're being effected by the mainstream media (being ruled by the illiterate persons) or don't have enough time to dig into. When we don't have any chance to live with something, never will have great esteem for that. Most of times I lose my confidence to my feelings because having feelings about something without knowing it well could not be trusted much.

 

Art is art. There's no inferior or superior. The people arguing about this should be regarded as inferior.
On topic:

Maybe it's just that I'm a positive person, but I think I'm right about this.
Every person I met and talked to about dance and music in general (from goa to psy, from hands up to dance, from techno to rave, from chill to italo, everything literally), all agreed about one fact: music is the universal language. Most of people that listen and are devoted to music are actually always positive and a little bit "smarter" (smarter in a way that they usually think for the best; I don't really know how to explain it here in english).

Anyway a friend of mine used to say: "stop thinking and start dancing so you can realize you're alive"

Oh btw a lot of hands up producers are really fun guys it seems (Rob Mayth, Special D, etc.)
These were the last "djs/producers" who weren't all about image and notoriety; they cared about making people dance (well at least till some years ago, don't know now)
