So the problem at hand is not that you went looking for a tutorial for a product that obviously comes a user's/instruction manual but the whatever guy who's obviously not the best in terminology and still has 41k subs and dared making a so called "tutorial" video on the particular Kontakt library/instrument. Only one thing i have to say mate. RTFM. It will eventually save you more time and -as it seems- peace of mind.
    Cheers

Look for tutorial for MIDI instrument.
Find MIDI tutorial for MIDI instrument on channel literally called HIFI MIDI tutorials.
Outraged MIDI tutorial channel for MIDI instruments doesn't have technical info on non-MIDI aspects.

Despite some more off-the-rails complaints like the Prominy YouTuber using layman's terms or whatever, OP's general observation and complaint is valid.

There is a LOT of bad information not just on YouTube, but the internet (including paid courses) in general.

This guy put out a video just recently where the first thing he talks about is something I remember calling out 10 or more years ago on YouTube and it has become "conventional wisdom" today.

I remember guys like "SeamlessR" promoting this idea that to get clarity in a mix, you need to use EQs to "carve out" space for all the elements. This is bullshit, but because back then every young aspiring "producer" heard it from supposed authorities on YouTube, the 2010s were rife with amateurs and even less-amateurs alike butchering the frequency content of their instruments in quest for "clarity".

When I studied digital audio in school, this "carve out space" idea was literally never a thing. The instructors probably would've laughed at anyone who suggested it.

My argument is and always will be: Hundreds of years ago, before equalizers and indeed recording, orchestras of 50+ musicians could have perfectly balanced and clear "mixes". The problem has nothing to do with EQ and everything to do with the composition and arrangement in better than 9/10 cases.

So we now have a generation of composers and such coming up with all sorts of bad habits because self-presenting internet "experts" who didn't really know what they were doing taught it to them, the "student" couldn't have known that, and now it is self-perpetuating and the standards continue to plummet.

Another example: I once bought on sale for $20 this "string arranging" course from Udemy or something like that which was a regular $200 (!) USD. It was pathetically bad. No string quartet is composed like a melody + chords piano piece ffs. It was actually offensive that this cost regular 200.

My advice is that: While most of the stuff on the internet is free and you can take it or leave it, you should always scrutinize what you're being taught, seek second opinions, and shouldn't see the internet as a complete replacement for in-person education from masters who have serious credentials.

LIke others said, do more, watch less. There are already good books (written before the age of AI books) that offer solid, ageless information. Experiment with the classic knowledge to find your way.

I don't think you saw me complain, did you ? I am just setting the record straight you nihilistic people. Seems to me, you think you possess some wisdom that the rest of the peeps should accept de facto. But as it seems you are just bitching with no justification... The internet is just another face of the world and yes there's a good chunk of it that sucks. The problem in this thread is people complaining of what's bad instead of just sticking with what's good in this vast internet of choices. People who see a half full glass always as half empty. And at the same time there are other peeps who are doing a fantastic job with what they 've learned from the very same internet you guys keep bitching about. So what's next.. Oh i know. People looking for a tutorial at boiling eggs. Because the fucking eggs don't even come with an owner's manual. Get a life please.
At 58 i 've been doing it for more than 40, noobs. What is this, a cock contest? What are you 15 posing for 50? tsk tsk tsk...
    Bye bye

if you want you can prioritize demonstrable information.

    * one method being to evaluate the information component in question .. on it's own merit

i have played guitar for almost 20 yrs, Analog synths not long after. Never had a teacher did fine teaching and reading. (no not Hal Leaonard Shitty tab Books) i started on circle of 5ths Years ago didnt click at first figured chord progressions and When i first learned the Pentatonic minor i knew one pattern E. sounded like i was warming up i didnt know what to do with it except play it fast and not let any notes breathe. and i will say my good friend UNCLE Ben Eller explained enough where a lightbuld went off... he has helped me more than anyone when it comes to youtube. but seeing as i knew a bit of theory going in i can see the helpful information vs shit like YOUSICIAN ... where idk why im playing billie ellish one note per string prog.

(no i dont like billie ellish :dont: just a example)
