There is one called Black Noh Snare.

It's for both mac and win and does come in 64 bit.
And it's free. Give it a try and see if you like the sound of it.

A sampled snare drum with 9 velocity layers, every velocity layer has 8 random-robin samples. And there's a subkick.

I don't know if this what you are looking for.

I hope this helps and good luck to you.

Sampler (layer and process, amp ADSR, EQ, filter and phase-correct each layer). *yes*

Or if you want to synthesize - Sonic Charge Microtonic (µTONIC)

There are free ones like Drumatic3 that does a very good job also.

I've been looking for this too, ideally a great physically modelled snare synth.
Maschine is not bad, Arturia Spark has one great snare model and IL Drumaxx has a great snare engine, but all lack a large variety of acoustic snare sounds.
So I still stick with samples and browse through hundreds of samples just to find something similar to the sound I have in mind, sometimes even filtering, mixing and processing 2 or 3 snares.

I have yet to find a good snare modeler that delivers authentic results quickly.

If you're out for snares on the more synthetic side, there's quite some choice today that stands out IMHO:
Drumaxx, RP Punch, Maschine, Spark and finally Live's Impulse, Collision and Corpus modules.

download drum machine snare's and claps and layer them, shift them in time domain and ad some reverb and ultra short delays/stutter, don't need a vst for that

FXpansion Tremor or resynthesis with IL Harmor? Just to extend the list ...

If you're on Ableton Live there are several max for live devices that do the job.

Thanks everyone for your input. Not looking for lessons on how to layer snares though, lol. I know your intentions were good. Anyhoo, I was looking for a dedicated snare-maker/modeler/creator. Was hoping for something snare specific. I see now theres not much. I will check out black Noh Snare, RP Punch and drummax and Tremor.

    Thanks again!

Ah, for the sake of completeness: One more good candidate is Kong Drum Designer in Reason (also available in older versions of Reason).
It has good-sounding, separate models for Bass/Snare/Toms etc.
For the snare, I'd definitely add EQ, a transient shaper and E/R reverb, but otherwise it's great as-is.
