anything iLok'd is worthless... if you're so concerned with piracy integrate the software into hardware like UAD does... I'd gladly surrender the USB slot if the hardware did more than make sure I wasn't stealing your shitty plugins...

You didn't need the dongle for the ultrachannel but i ain't paying 50 dollars out just incase someone releases a free plug where u get one license for one location that might be ok. Also if you ever need to reinstall from my experience your Ilok location gets locked to your old location & uses a licencense you cant even use! Probably me doing it wrong though lol!

Get what you mean though & handy if u have one already I suppose

Ah okay. I'm not sure anymore if I paid for it or received it for free together with a plugin. But I can understand if someone isn't interested in paying that amount. I have no experiences btw with using stuff on several locations because I don't have a 'mobile' studio. :-P

    If it weren't a dongle-tethered freebie but a $50.00 iLok-free plug-in, it would be hands-down a great buy.

I have a feeling it's more than just an aural exciter. It also has a bit of mild vintage-console like saturation. It adds depth to a source. It feels better defined.

I may be missing something here, but when you download the demo of Virtual Mix Rack, Revival comes with it. You don't need iLok to use the demo, but it will expire at some point. Revival however, will keep on working, right? I think iLok is required only if you buy Virtual Mix Rack.

No u need ILok 2 dongle just to use the demo. See here

    http://www.drumclassroom.net/demos/

Even if u try to instal revival alone u still need to input a serial that can only be tethered to a dongle rather than your PC like say eventide did. They provide u with a serial. The demo expires after 15 days. Funny thing is Revival is included in Virtual mix rack. So unless u have a spare ilok2 dongle it pointless. Like M3rcury said personally I would prefer to pay 50 dollars for a good plug that doesn't use iLok 2. However if u buy VMR for 150 dollars u get a Free dongle! & no doubt Slate makes a little commision. Is a con as far as I can work out
