Revival

Revival is the product of years of research into what makes things sound ‘better’. Can't you use "Blue Cat's PatchWork"..........which allows you to use VST's in Pro Tools?

 

Why they call it FREE when you need ank iLok2 to use it?

 

There was already a thread on this somewhere.. and the same has been stated there as here: If you still require an iLok dongle (not even the iLok-online-system, really a physical) dongle it just means 'you get it free with the other Slate products'.. who uses an Ilok2 these days except for running Slate products?

 

where do you live or have live before ?

there are many VST Plugins which uses iLok or ILok2 !

 

There are many plugins that requires eLicenser and many that requires Vienna Key. We spend more time connecting such stuff via USB than making music...

 

I think its even possible to day to register ilok without dongle , there is that software ilok no?

Unless u got iLoK 2 dongle forget about it, Better still forget about Slate & support the good developers rather than a plagiarist

This is the equivalent of "here's that brand new free luxury sports car you've always wanted...". And then forget to mention that they've got it locked up inside a bank vault....

Actually it's a complete salesman's sucker punch. For sure this is something Slate has schemed up behind closed doors with iLok, so they each get the financial benefits out of it.

They sell more iLok2's, he gets more potential sales down the line on his other plugs. iLok probably slips him a little royalty each time a Slate "free" license goes on the dongle.

It's called economics, and it's likely that "free" plugin is pure hype and nonsense just to get everybody suckered into their shitty money scheme.

By my observations, all this Revival is is a two band exciter. They seem to have hyped it sufficiently though.

 

Jokers giving something for 'free' that requires ilok2! Sounds like it's just another Sausage fattener.

I have an iLok dongle (also an eLicenser btw) because I buy products from time to time .. but .. besides the demo possibility .. it has another advantage .. if a company releases a free plugin or just for a limited time (e.g. promo or introduction) you can use them immediately without any waiting or 'complaining' about the fact that it's protected (although I do understand the comments in this thread so don't get me wrong!) .. I didn't have any troubles with iLok so far so maybe I'm a little prejudiced

Some other free plugin examples > SoundToys Little Radiator, MicroShift, PrimalTap, Eventide UltraChannel* and there are definitely more ...

* Not sure anymore if iLok was required but I see it in my License Manager
