I heard he's developing a plugin that takes any room out of the mixing equation, all reflections and dimensions of the studio space. Slate's calling it Plein Air.

for a moment there i thought the free product was actually Slate MOTT since it gives air to your mix, makes it breath and thump , never in my life have i clicked a shortcut link faster

This was free, when it was release one or two years agao.

Slate Digital, more like: Seriously Overrated Digital… this is a pretty useless plugin. And the way plugin installation is managed is horrible. You cannot choose which plugins to install and have to install the whole range – even if you don't have any licences for it.

 

No, and apparently there's some DRM code getting called as well when the bypass button is pressed the first time, takes a few seconds.

Yea pretty much, its just an EQ messing with highs, taking a look at it in Plugindoctor and its quite a severe boost, with a little dip just before the boost. I think analog EQs boost in the same manner.

 

While I personally have not used this plugin, at least that I remember, I can however think of a 1/2 dozen ways to achieve the same or better results using 'free' & 'retail' plugins.
