    Hello,

    Could anyone explain why my sound cuts off for half a second when a delay effect like Simple Delay is activated via automation on a track ? Is it because I don't have an audio interface or any hardware problem ?

    Thank you in advance.

    Too little info. What cuts out? the entire signal or just the send?
    It's not the lack of an interface.

    Maybe your delay is inserted, fully wet and the delay time is half a second?

    Btw right place for this thread?

    may be a interface issue, try to find asio drivers for your sound card,
    is the duration of the problem affected by changing buffer size in the audio driver settings?

    Some delays clean out their current buffer/memory when automating time parameters.

    Be specific. What delay is it? What parameter are you automating? etc

    Thank you for your answers again.The delay is the ableton live Simple Delay you have in the effects( anyone of them), I automate the device ON parameter and when I play the track and this delay effect is activated the sound cuts off (i.e no sound) for around 0.5 seconds.
    It also happens with PING and PONG effects.It does go away when I reduce the dry/wet to 0% and comes when it's set to 50% ,if I change the time to half notes or quarter notes then it remains.

    @No Avenger you nailed it.
    Yamata-san That is the way it is supposed to work.
    Wet = delay
    Dry = original signal
    now you control the ratio

    Thank you ,but I can now hear a strange "clicking" sound when I turn the feedback up and when the delay is turned on via automation.Is that normal ?

    how high?
    It's got nothing to do with automation by the way.

    I think I can't hear the "clicking" noise anymore, it was quite low and short duration when the delay was activated.
    I think turning audio device in preferences to "FL Studio ASIO " fixed it . Thanks.
