In my posession is a piece of abandonware called SIGNUM S1100 DX v2.5 circa 1999. It has the look, feel and functionality of the AKAI S1100. Signum S1100 version 3.X came out [FREE], looking like a silver bookshelf stereo. No resemblence to a rack mount sampler. My guess is AKAI didn't like how closely v2.5 resembled their hardware.

So yeah I've got this and it's time limited, and cant be reset. It wont save. Needs something. Too bad for me. Because it talks to my daw just fine thru LoopBe1 and VB Audio Virtual Audio Cable. It's a shame really. It reads S1000 CD. It retains most of all AKAI S1000 functions.

Surely this is a piece of industrial, DnB, and techno history?

can you reset your computer year?

 

I've tried to reset my Windows year. It never holds.

Ok. I dug around more and successfully changed my WIndows time. No luck. I'll try some things, now with the clock changed.

 

No change. (Tried clean install with time set).

 

iv'e just found this on disc, but never really used it to save.

Hello Luca here , I'm the dev of that fucking sampler, glad to know you appreciate it after more than 20 years!!! I do not have a build environment anymore, not even a Windows pc, but I can take a look if I can find some working old copy on some CD backup , not sure,if found will be a pleasure to give you a link

It reads the akai format (like cdxtract) not just audio cds (it says audioCDRom Extractor, are theses roms are audio cds? not data?)?
Is there a demo try ? please
That would make extracting all my ancient akais much easier
