signatures - please go easy!

    Ahoy ahoy,

    it seems to be a general trend among us to garnish postings with enormous signatures.
    Pictures, quotes, links, everything has to be in the signature.

    They become so ridiculously large, they take up a whole screen or even more.
    Just a few random examples from recent threads:

    It's neither informative nor aesthetically pleasing, it's just a nuisance and annoying as hell.
    So can we please knock it down a notch and stay with what signatures are meant for?

    Completely agree with you, however, it's not that is bothering as hell. I just don't see much the point of a signature in forums not just this one specifically.

    The most problematic ones are those flashing with videos inside. As long as it's pure text or small image, it shouldn't pose troubles to the users. Still it would be handy if every user had the option to disable loading signatures of other members. :yes:

    i found serenity (and faster loadtimes) by unchecking to show signatures in prefs.

    Bigger pimples are not better, most people wish they'd go away. But other folks they like the big ones, they hit the mirror, bam squirt splat spray!
