continuing my side chain drama..

i followed the steps above to the LETTER..

and i did kinda work but rather than just the synth being affected the kick also was also compressed?

check the routing and tried other way but still puzzled...

been using acid now for 8 years and i really dont wanna defect to ableton!

any acid 7 gurus about?

 

I gave up trying to use side chain with Acid Pro a long time ago. I just never could figure it out.

Maybe you could duplicate your audio (dummy track), so you would have one routed to master and one to the bus.

Surprisingly easy once you know how but Sony have made the process kind weird so im not surprised people have had trouble doing it!

I ditched Acid Pro long ago for Ableton Live. I wasnt able to send midi note data to an audio track with a sample and a vocoder on it in Acid Pro. Acid is what I started on way back in 2004, but its lack of routing features made me jump ship. Its still a very capable mixing host, and I could see tracking some live recordings in it, but Reaper is where I do my mixing and Ableton is where I do my synthing.

why dont you do everything on Ableton or Reaper?

Im really tempted by Ableton coz of the routing options etc but if its no good for mixing etc then would i be wasting my time?

Could you post the link to the solution. I still have some old Acid projects that need some tweaking.
