So i have a problem, i need one keyboard for giving midi input for both programs at the same time but whenever i turn one of the programs first, the first one turned on always takes the midi for itself only and "blocks" the other one from taking midi in. Example: with pro tools turned in i cannot select my midi keyboard (yamaha ydp 142 arius) in sibelius for recording and vice versa. This is really extremely annoying, please help.

Alsi im pretty new to all this: is there some solution involving these 16 midi channels? WHat are they for? Arent those supposed to be the exact solution for such problems? If yes then how? Thanks in advance.
