I was in many bands before I started producing. Everything from death meatal to reggae, and jazz. Then I got swallowed up by the rave scene in the late 90s and started to dj, and eventually Live PA.

I wanted to make dance music. Here is the first track I made back in 04. Sony acid pro 3 and an oxygen 8-24 key controller. No soundcard and crappy headphones. Breakbeats in our South Florida style. Used mostly Albino 3 and Vanguard vsti's.

The circle...Glow sticks on strings. They were competing for a cash prize.

I need to dig up some old box filled with 4 tracks from my at the time prized Tascam 246, so for now just a Foto from some gig somewhere playing a song called "Never No How To Act When You Meet An Old Aquaintence". I know it is that song because I am playing bass while my cohort and partner in musical crime El Jefe blazes away on his '74 Telecaster. That is me on the left.

To evolve in this music environment today it is best to go your own way and avoid any value that mainstream, anystream and underground offers. Mainstream is connected to the perfect studio sound,emptiness and rabid promotion. Underground is just bunch of sects who praise their idols and think that is "cool". lets just listen to whatever dfyw. listen to some 8bit, then some bon jovi, then some Renard queenstone, then some margo guryan , then some toxic holocaust or DRI ... and eat watermelon with garlic and pickled fried locusts in chocolate cerumen sauce. we are all gonna die soon anyway so just let shit go !

My earliest shit is so old that no daws existed that days and midi just became a new toy on the C-64. But I couldn't afford a sequencer, and so I overdubbed with my double-cassette-deck, playing by hand on my Alpha-Juno along the song structure of my 505 drum machine. After 4 dubs or so, almost no hi frequencies existed anymore, the song's tempo was at least 15 bpm slower and you could hear prominently each mistake I made while playing.

Believe me - you definitely don't want to hear my earliest shit

 

this actually makes me want hear it even more. if you said your first synth was gas powered and the oscilator was made out of parts of dismantled russian submarine, i would buy it.
