i saw a reddit post one time about sennheiser idk model and there was a guy that did modifications to the eq and the audio spectrum became more straighter overall idk
if yall know what im talking about is it worth doing and will it lead to confusing mixing issues when i make music?

I don't personally use any correction for mixing with headphones, but depending on the model, flattening (or harman-ing) the frequency response can actually improve the sound. That used to be the case for my old Sennheiser HD598, flattening it actually gave it some bass and made the sound a little more pleasant. Give it a try, but don't force yourself to use it if you don't like the results. My two last headphones (Sennheiser HD58X and FiiO FT3) were used completely raw.

You could try dSONIQ Realphones for 41 days.
    www.dsoniq.com

You don't need a supported set of headphones.
Unfortunately, there is only one HyperX model in their list and it's not Cloud 2.

Downside is you'll have guesswork on your hand, but there are ways to accomodate such things.. AutoEQ.app can be a good idea to create a curve and insert bands manually into Realphones maybe. Just maybe :)

If you do not want to use software like Sonarworks, find a correction profile for your headphones and actually look at what it is going to do.

It sounds like you (@OP) want to use correction software while you are making music. Save the cpu resources until you are mixing, or maybe even when you start printing stems if you do that.

I would contact the manufacturer directly if you have any questions. I've been using a Beyerdynamic - DT-990 Pro for years, it never even occurred to me to change anything with an EQ, I trust in the experience and skills of the company. Maybe they should stop reading Reddit and letting themselves be confused.

Sennheiser and Beyerdynamic are 2 high-end companies from Germany with a renowned reputation worldwide. Their Tagesschau news presenter also usually wears a Sennheiser microphone.

Autoeq.app website has eq curves to download. I used some harmann profiles on soundsource app but i found some headphones it made it worse, some of them was better sounding to me. If you know how ur headphone sounds, your mixes should translate good enough. If correction has many bands it usually makes sound worse. It is all personal preference tbh, try it urself.

From the Autoeq app website, for a "flat" setting in
a custom parametric eq for the HyperX Cloud II :

    Samplerate 44000 Hz:

    Preamp: -9.38 dB
    Filter 1: Lowshelf 105.0 Hz Gain 4.0 dB Q 0.70
    Filter 2: Peak 113.9 Hz Gain -7.3 dB Q 0.32
    Filter 3: Peak 418.4 Hz Gain 8.5 dB Q 0.44
    Filter 4: Peak 6026.2 Hz Gain -4.7 dB Q 0.18
    Filter 5: Highshelf 10000.0 Hz Gain 10.1 dB Q 0.70

    Samplerate 48000 Hz:

    Preamp: -4.99 dB
    Filter 1: Lowshelf 105.0 Hz Gain 11.9 dB Q 0.70
    Filter 2: Peak 72.4 Hz Gain -14.2 dB Q 0.21
    Filter 3: Peak 360.3 Hz Gain 11.8 dB Q 0.38
    Filter 4: Peak 3401.5 Hz Gain -4.5 dB Q 0.28
    Filter 5: Highshelf 10000.0 Hz Gain 3.7 dB Q 0.70

Just a little heads up, if you use Fabfilter Pro-Q, multiply the Q values with 1.41

And if you want to check out for yourself:

For me is the opposite: If I don't correct my hd650s with SoundID I tend to add a lot more bass that the track need because they lack a lot on that deparment and I enjoy making heavy mass music.

Sennheiser HD 490 Pro with DearVR Mix is a gamechanger for me. They have deeper bass compared to the HD600/650, and the Sennheiser owned headphone correction/room emulation software is the cherry on top. You can thank me later
