I sold everything in this photo including my Akai sampler. ARP2600 gone. 2 x Roland System 100s, an Elektor Formant modular.
QU32 is rent to own $50 a week.

why u use a digital mixer and not a analog one....

better flexiblity in routings and in DAW ?

 

The Allen & Heath is also a 32 channel control surface. It only mixes my keyboards, all microphones are direct into the Apollo. This year I will get an SSL Fusion for analogue summing.

I'm flat broke too. You don't get all this gear and stay wealthy. It's actually a serious problem I have. I've never travelled because the money that could have taken me around the world was money that could buy instruments. Maintaining a well equipped studio has been an obsession since I was 19. And that folks, was a long time ago. Be warned!

I briefly had an international profile working with a prog rock vocalist who was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I was getting phone calls for interviews which was mind boggling. Incredibly this guy was my idol and the reason I got into music. So to work with him was a dream come true. Work with him got me a mention in Classic Rock magazine and I did a few tracks that made the Billboard charts. Not high in the charts, but they got there. Don't think I made any money. No money in this business anymore. I've had chart success in my country doing EDM and a Rolling Stone review compared my track to Underworld. That was nice. It was even nicer to go to a club and watch 500 people dancing to my song. Hard not to run around telling everyone "That's me! I did that" I then spent a lot of time doing short film scores. I now have the studio for experimental works. I've basically retired from commercial work although I am involved with http://unitedprogressivefraternity.com/site/

its like when a friend tells me i can do courses to educate myself by working and earning the money to do them. to him it is easy because he earns enough money pay for food and school, but he cant understand that i struggle to afford to feed my family, so no matter how many hours i work i will never be able to afford school.
i work double the amount of hours he does and i earn a quarter of the money, which has to support 3 people, but he thinks it is the same thing XD

im okay though, i have my family and cracker teams, who needs money :D

I've got the same Lexicon Interface. Relegated to a MIDI interface now since I've upgraded, but I really liked how it worked when I used it.
