I've recently attempted to install Olymoon's Xfer Serum & Serum FX Update 127b2 - SN + Fix- WIN from AZ, but upon installation everything works fine using a standard R2R Keygen, but serum cannot find the preset, wavetable or noise folders (they are at their default location with all their contents) my previous version of serum (1.21b3) did not have this issue. Anyone think they can help me ? I've tried removing everything related to serum and do a fresh install but it does not work, with or without the fix.

 

This is my biggest gripe with Duda's plugin. All that coding & he couldn't allow the plugin to search nested folders.

 

My Working setup is:

Y:\Plugins\VSTi\Xfer Records\Serum Presets
Effect Chains
LFO Shapes
Noises
Presets
Skins
System
Tables

I have one 3rd party library installed so far
Serum Presets\Presets\Analog Dreams - Vintage Vol. 1

The tables for this library are in
Serum Presets\Tables\Analog Dreams Tables

Had to reinstall
Install_Xfer_Serum_Update_127b2.exe & Install_Xfer_SerumFX_Update_127b2.exe
Used serial# from Xfer_keygen instead of included patch.

Works perfectly so far!

 

The issue is... My setup is identical D:, I just use my C drive instead of Y...

 

If you used the patched dll files from the most current release, reinstall & use either the provided serial numbers from the 2 most recent releases or, use the R2R Xfer_keygen to generate a serial number.

My problem with the patched files was an incomplete GUI.

 

Go to "C:\Users\ your account name \AppData\Roaming\Xfer\Serum"
and open the Serum.cfg file with notepad or a similar txt editor.
Scroll down to the end and it should show you the path where the presets go.

Here it's "C:\Users\ your account name \Documents\Xfer\Serum Presets"
and the subfolders look like this:

Yeah, the problem seems to be in the config file, It's fucked up...

@r4e could you be kind enough to show me your config file ? I'd like to see how it has to be structured exactly...

 

Ye, the last lines are:



At line 40 the skin is set and at line 42 the presets path.

So you just have to navigate to your presets path, copy the the path name and paste it
into the empty square bracket.

 

This does not seem to fix it :/

Is your presets folder located in Documents?
You could also open Serum's menu and select "rescan folders on disk"

 

@r4e I get this message when rescanning aswell as when I open Serum, I kept everything at default location (Documents)

 

But is there a folder named Tables inside that Serum Presets folder?

 

Yes, there are all the files there needs to be, I've been using Serum for a year and this problem just happened with this release, my Serum Presets folder has everything it should :/

 

Possible solutions -
Make certain directory as write privileges.
Try deleting config file & reload Serum to generate a new config.
Reinstall without using latest patched files using only serial# to activate

 

Those are the things I read about and tried, none worked :/

 

move "Serum Presets" folder from "documents" to Serum installation folder

and select the folder "Serum presets" from the current location when you open vst and are prompted
