I just noticed, that Serum 2.0.16 V.R was there for a week, but suddenly disappeared on Audioz (and sister site as well) - does anybody know and could please explain it, why has it been taken down?

DMCA'd by the dev most likely.... Doesn't really matter much anyway since none of the (4+?) releases worked very well at all...

They always do. Usually it is even faster.

 

If you only ever buy one plugin, make it Serum.

 

You could just figure out how to make a search string for whatever you are looking for on duckduckgo.com and have it look at the comrade tracker for results by putting the name of it after the release.... Nice for big stuff if you are without a premium account or debrid.

So, as far as I understand you folks: the reason for such sudden takedowns aren't most likely issues running the w4r3z or the cr4x. So I might get the stuff elsewhere and run it without regrets, right?

 

Releases can get taken down due to copyright infringement complains aka DMCA'd. Or the releases can be Nuked, which means they are removed because there is a problem with them functionally. It does not mean there is a risk involved with running them. They may not work right, deauthorize aka timebomb, and a few other reasons. It does not mean they are potentially dangerous like spyware/malware.

It usually means you could waste your time downloading them and running them. Go on Sister Site and read "The Scene Faq" document. It explains some of this in better detail.

dont bother looking for it until R2R | V.R. | TCD | Bubbix | RET | Mocha | r4e, etc, fixes it so it doesn't do stupid shit while you're using it. still using v1 for now..

Are you talkin' about Serum 2, or any other version of Serum?

 

Serum is a synth worth buying. Steve Duda is a G, and despite Vital being a powerful synth, its not Serum.

The new Spectral Oscillator is insane. Worth the price alone. Splice has rent to own, making it affordable to those who may not be able to fork out 200$, which is understandable.

 

No problems for me. Can't remember which version I installed but I left the test track open over night. No time bomb. Works without issue for me so far.

 

Be careful where you get it.
The only place I put 100% trust in is sister site.
I trust "Friendly Site" Softarchive as well, but as they handle so much more I don't know enough to put 100% trust.
I also make use of the mentioned Russian Tracker and much of that is the same stuff, but I like to wait and look at comments.
Those 3 places are the only ones I use, and I don't know if my slight reservations about the last two are justified...just feelings.

If one is backing things up properly there is little worry if a drive goes down, something gets corrupted, etc, but a bad virus can wreak havok that no one wants to deal with. Stick with trusted sources.

 

Serum 2, I have Serum 1 for Mac

 

I bought a lot of stuff…need to balance it with some free stuff. I’m going to wait 6 months if I don’t see the free version I will buy it.
