Can somebody PM the serum 2 installer

 

That would break their NDA, why would someone risk that?

 

Hoping for free upgrade as a serum 1 owner, but all this beta stuff it looks like it’s evolving into Current by minimal audio but different… were there new filter types and more lfo/envelopes? A second filter?

 

from what i have gathered, its a free update, there are many new filter types, additional filter, and LFO/env, as well as oscillator types and oscillator fx.

 

There is a gigantic list of the new features kindly provided in this very thread! And yes the upgrade is free.

 

The dev is asking people to chill and let him work. It's the least I can do, especially given that it's going to be a free update. No need to ruin a cool thing just for hype

There are no NDAs as far as I am aware, but I imagine if they were to trace the fact that you shared your installer you probably would get your license revoked or something.

I don't imagine that's the reason people aren't leaking things though, it's mostly just out of respect for Steve, as he has asked not to leak anything. I'm sure by the end of this month or next month it will probably be out, since the guy in the video said that the beta invitations aren't even open anymore (he said you used to be able to fill out a form) so I imagine it's really close.

If I remember correctly Serum 1 rarely appeared on sister site? I think I saw a pretty old version only. Is it an agreement with Steve, and are we going to see V2 there or is it rather unlikely?

 

As soon as version 2 comes out, you will also be able to see and download it on the sister site.
There were and are no agreements.

 

i own Serum but although excellent, it's not my go to synth*** so i can patiently wait for it to be released.

I wish they would fix the preset system, any time I have added folder, it rebuilt the db from the start .. I think in 2025, you can do incremental :P

 

Almost the entire point of a public beta is to generate hype about the upcoming release.

 

I want the installer too. I think it’s a little weird for the regular visitors of the sister site to draw the line at beta installers out of respect for the developers lol.

 

If you guys are interested in beta testing Serum 2 just ask Steve.

When a retail installer is put on a developers website for sale, they are not carefully tracking which customer gets each copy.

Can you say there is no way that is possible, with the limited number of copies involved with a beta software? Because if you can't, you really cannot say that when the developer gets a copy of it from a site they clearly already know about; will not be able to figure out who leaked it.
At which point they will have gambled and lost a legit license for no reason.

 

It is possible on Windows to use alternate data streams to add extra data to a file, this can be used to identify the intended recipient of the file.

Those of y'all who actually have access to the beta and can talk to Steve - can y'all ask him if there's a timeline yet? When can we expect trailers, or any official announcement which comes either from Steve directly or Xfer records socials? I'm genuinely hyped as fuck and don't want to miss anything :D
