Alright, Birthday is coming up and as norm Im going for a new piece of equipment.
I am insanely torn between
Maschine Studio or Mk3 Micro both used.
I cannot afford the full sized MK3 with the interface built in or id obviously choose that.
Here are a few points.

This will be used ONLY in studio.
i own a Kontrol A49
Im huge into midi maps and using my controllers for anything i can.
Im NOT a huge fan of Maschine as a daw but willing to use it as a Drum machine inside S1
Mikro Has a touch strip. But eventually I will have a jam as wel..

my concerns are back at my old employer we had a Maschine Studio. I had maybe only put in 5 Hours on it total but i remember some stuff was flunky in the software.
I have not touched a Maschine since then. I think they are on 3.0?
Have no clue if they upgraded firmware or not ethier.

So what would your guys personal preference be.
Small Compact New upgraded
or Big, Bulky but layed out with 2 full color displays.
or forget NI completely?

Please help. I have a touch of a disability that will allow me to OBSESE over this like you couldn't imagine.
Could use some solid tie breakers from outside source!

I recently just sold my Atom pad. It was pretty good for Studio one but just didn't have have the functionality I needed for other instruments.

 

I purchased a Maschine Studio in mint condition for $175. Of course, no software but who cares. The latest one is 2.8.3. It is out there as well as ALL the expansions. I dont use it much and dont take it out of the studio but big, bulky and flashy is good eye candy for the clients.

If you want a drum machine MIDI controller, wouldn't it be better to get an Akai one? One of those MPDs? Since you don't like Maschine software, and Akai can be easily used with any software, although they do have MPC software you can use. I must admit I am more than a little biased since I have MPD32 and I have nothing but praise for it.

 

Ive had MPD's before.
I guess im willing to learn Maschine atleast for drum purposes. I've been digging around with it with my Kontrol and some of the old quirks i didnt care for before have been fixed.
But yes the MPD 236? The one with the faders was definitely on my radar but has very bad reviews for accuracy.
I LOVED my Akai MPK49 and 249 Back in the day tho. Akai makes dope stuff.
