Well, R2R, I respect you and think you are amazing and I will be forever grateful towards you and your amazing work. I sympathize with your vision of non business warez. But how can we good guys stop the assholes from making money off your releases? When you release something to the public, who can stop assholes from repacking them? Who can stop assholes from starting fake websites where they try to sell your releases?

If you can't tell the rest of us that does not make any money off your releases what to do, who can? Maybe you can be a little more clear what you want us to do? Do you have any idea what can be done? You telling the assholes in you nfo's to not make money off your releases is obviously not enough.

I suppose that forum owners can stop links, mirrors and symlinks. Where do you then want us to download your releases from? Please tell me and I and lots of people will do as you say. Would you be happy if everyone just downloaded them from via torrent sites? Well, would not the torrent search sites make a lot of money from that?

It is not clear what you think a realistic way forward is or what we can do to help you. Please tell us what you actually want to be done about the situation so we understand what you want, because I don't.

Happy to have serious suggestions in the thread about what CAN be done but please do not be hostile towards eachother.

 

Or it could be because they just don't wanna do it anymore, at least not at the rate people want them to. It's no news there's lame people trying to make money with whatever scam they can get away with, people are crappy, but for R2R to just stop doing shit it must be more than just that.
Don't get me wrong, I respect them a lot, specially for what they say they stand for, this whole freedom thing, but if they wanted help they would know there's a lot of people interested in helping since they are like the biggest team in audio stuff.
Software is getting harder to crack and there's a flood of new stuff everyday as EDM just went nuts mainstream. It's way too much work for them. Then you sum that to the fact that lame ass are making money with their releases with shit websites and most kids these days just rather use that Serum cracked 4 years ago and Cymatics crap and you get a pretty discouraging world.
Also people will never be happy, give them everything they ask for right now and they will come up with 50 more things already. As R2R makes clear in their releases they never did it for money, they did it to help people (and for their amusement in cracking stuff), but people already have plenty to choose from.

Its simple: "its time to expand the operation"!

Maybe R2R can teach some up and coming groups or teach a friendly alliance the R2R tradition so it will be less work on R2R's behalf and the impact wont be as great on the hard work end. If 5 high quality R2R groups were helping with releases, the impact of theft would be less of an annoyance on R2R's end. In simple theory, the whole point is to feed the poor. So if other teams are releasing at the quality/quanity of R2R's standards, this would definately help the impact of hardwork being taken for granted and R2R can get some of their time back they are losing through underground sales.


It is truly a blessing to have R2R bless the less fortunate and we are forever humble because of this. R2R: name what you want and help us help you with the solution. You guys save lives and keep homes happy with your releases. Let the community help you with your recommendation.

Remember all scene groups hate torrents and do not want ANY of their stuff on torrent sites or forums. If they see someone on their FTP sites releasing stuff on torrents/forums, his/her Ip gets banned and he/she gets NFOed sending a warning to other FTP sites to delete purge him/her and never to allow him/her anywhere near scene ever again."

Mykal, eh, pardon my ignorance, but does this mean R2R do not want any of their releases on Audioz???
