I installed Team VR's Serato Studio 2.3.0 for Mac and after installing the patch, I opened the app and logged in to my Serato account as instructed. The first couple of times I used the app the crack was working fine but at some point later I believe Serato Studio might've somehow established connection to the Internet and detected the crack, and thus the app converted to the Free version with limited capabilities from there on out.

Even after deleting the app and all associated Serato files on the system, then reinstalling it again along with the patch (although I just reinstalled it without deleting it before since I don't know where the crack is located within the system), it's now still detecting I don't have the license when logging in afterwards, so I can't use the Pro features. I don't know how to solve the issue to get it working again as it first did, I'd greatly appreciate your help if you know the answer (actually, something similar happened a while ago after donwload a cracked version of Serato DJ Pro Suite, it was working fine at first and then reverted to the Free version, but I can remember if it was also a Team VR release or not).

You really need to use a firewall to block outbound connections for every non-legit thing you install. If a releaser does not mention that you have to allow it to access the internet, it means you should block it. Pick one, LuLu firewall (free), Little Snitch (paid but also k'd), and Radio Silence (paid, but cheap, and also k'd). Or you can add entries to your hosts file in terminal. issue the command sudo nano /etc/hosts to open your hosts file in the text editor Nano. Add your entries like 0.0.0.0 www.serato.com and then Control+O key to write out and save the file.

If some instructions tell you to allow something to login, that is often just meant to be the first time you load the [whatever] after installation.
Then block it.

To better find files related to something that goes wrong like this; the best option is the utility app Find Any File. It is paid, cheap, and also available k'd too. You can also use a cleaner app like Dr.Buho or CleanMyMac, etc. Be careful if you download from non-legit source because CleanMyMac, as an example; is one of the most common sources of Adware there is for Mac.

Serato Studio installs files to: /private/var/log, /private/var/db/receipts, /Users/YOUR USERNAME/Library/Application Support, /Users/YOUR USERNAME/Library/Preferences

You should uninstall the program, delete any Serato Studio related files from those locations, and then reinstall it.

So I tried reinstalling after deleting all the files you mentioned, since before I was only deleting the ones on the Application Support and Preferences folder, but didn't know to also look on the other two places you mentioned. It's still not working after installing the software and its patch and logging in to my Serato account afterwards the first time loading the app again. I've found people on the sister site having similar issues of only being able to access the Free version of Serato Studio, they talk about it on the posts about the different versions of the app released by Team VR, so it would seem there might actually be a problem with the crack itself not working anyway. However, what's puzzling me is how the first time I installed it, it actually worked and had the Pro features even after logging in (I realize now I should've used a Firewall for the app after getting it to work that one time, I actually already have Radio Silence just didn't think to do it for whatever reason). I can't tell why it was working if it was an issue of the crack actually being faulty. I don't know if you have any more suggestions as to what may be happening here, but thanks anway for your recommendations, I'll bear them in mind for whatever other k'd software I get.

 

Is the nano text editor built into macOS or do I have to download that first before adding anything to the host file? Just wondering
