i made a video that got at least some views on youtube

i want to put it on my website to hopefully help my website rank better in google.

But how will google recognize that i made that video? so that it pushes my website a bit further up in rank due to that video

There is nothing hard in it, actually. If it's on your website and if the domain is the same, you will have no problems in promoting your website with your YouTube video.
