    Hey

So i've been dabbling a bit more seriously into sound design.
I've made a few things a few years ago, some podcasts, some infomercial for a pharma company and a couple animation sound work but never really stuck to it.
I'd love to reconvert from music in the future. Not sure where yet.
But for now i'm learning step by step to apply my electronic music skills in the sound design world.

I've made this little redesign, i'd be grateful to get proper critic, what's good, what's wrong, what knowledge to focus on to fix what's wrong, anything really. Be harsh if you have to don't hesitate.

    Thank you

Are you seeking feedback and advice on sound design or video production or both or? :dunno:

I think you'd need to supply a little more than 9 seconds for anybody here to provide guidance. Which I am happy to do.

Well... I can only guess that by "redesign" you mean this is about receiving feedback on your music only and has nothing to do with video, making "Working with video" the wrong forum section to create this thread in. I will move it to the appropriate section for you.

Uh, no ? Redesign means remaking the sound effects for the visuals, has nothing to do with music but thanks.

i like it. the synth vocal/pad moves upward as we see the graphic fly. the flappy sounds are well-timed with the graphic and the bell adds some solidity to it. i know you're probably not designing for people closely listening on stereo speakers, but if you can make it move a little right to left with the motion of the graphic, it would be more effective to me- someone who doesn't quite know what you're aiming for

I think you have talent and hearing, what I heard was successful, interesting and balanced - no annoying highs and lows and inventiveness and at the end a nice ending in the reverb.

Stick with it, you get better on your own the longer you do sound design and deal with the subject of sound. It may take a few years before you are successful, it is better to read something about sound and reverb than to ignore how the professionals do it.

As you know, every job requires a 3-year training course, then a lot of professional experience and if you are passionate about it and you also love sound, you will be successful.

Some sound designers put in a lot of bass to draw attention to the product, that may work for smartphone users (who can't do any hearing training anyway because the sound quality of a smartphone is bad) but not for people who know everything in high definition.

Find your own style, stay true to yourself and copy little. If you can't recreate something you have in mind, just use samples. Buy yourself a few books about FX and effects.

    Good luck, Boosire
